Epic of Gilgamesh

2007-01-08 12:37:14 · 5 answers · asked by Atlas 6

If God doesn't exist or never existed then why has religion ALWAYS been the predominent belief in human history? Nobody ever "started" the belief in God. It was always present.

Why does the fact that 5-10% of the world all of a sudden stopped believing in God sometime beginning in the mid-1980s make it ABSOLUTE that he doesn't exist after millenia of religious belief? Stop kidding yourselves, God exists.

The Hadith
Kitab Al Tabaqat Al Kabir (Book Of The Major Classes), Volume 2, By Ibn Sa'd, (2), Page 32
The apostle said, "Who will deal with this rascal for me?" Whereupon Salim b. Umayr, brother of B. Amr b. Auf, one of the "weepers", went forth and killed him.” Abu Afak, was from Banu Amr Ibn Awf, and was an old man who had attained the age of one hundred and twenty years. He was a Jew, and used to instigate the people against the Apostle of Allah, and composed (satirical) verses [about Muhammad]. Salim Ibn Umayr who was one of the great weepers [Muslims consider weeping as an act of piety] and who had participated in Badr [one of the raids of Muhammad against a merchant caravan], said, "I take a vow that I shall either kill Abu Afak or die before him. He waited for an opportunity until a hot night came, and Abu Afak slept in an open place. Salim Ibn Umayr knew it, so he placed the sword on his liver and pressed it till it reached his bed. The enemy of Allah screamed.......

I asked this before, but for some reason I get no real answers...

After the flood it was obviously only Noah, his family and a bunch of animals left on this planet.

Noah had to decide which humans were going to carry the diseases which only occur in humans. Humans are the only host for numerous diseases (just to name a few: measles, typhus, typhoid fever, smallpox, leprosy, poliomyelitis, five types of syphilis, hepatitis, shingles, four types of rnalarial parasites, two types of tapeworm, an intestinal worm, hookworm, three agents of filariasis, two species of Schistosoma, pinworm, three types of lice, various types of fever)

The disease "kuru" only occurs in the highlands of Papua New Guinea.

Which family member did he instruct to go and pick the brains of a kuru sufferer so that the natives of the highlands of Papua New Guinea can enjoy the disease today? Is there anything about this in the Bible? I really can't find it.

How would you explain this?

A man was going to the grocery store to get food for himself. As he was at the store he had this urge to get some extra milk and bread. He decided what the heck and he got some extra. As he's driving home he feels the urge to turn down this backstreet. Again he goes down the backstreet. He continues to get these urges untill he ends up at a house. As he gets to the house he has the urge to go up and knock and give them the bread and milk. As he knocks, a middle-aged woman peeks her head out, and says,"yes". He explains his story and gives her the bread and milk. Then she opens the door and sees 4 hungry kids standing behind her. The lady bursts into tears and says, "I've been having trouble with money, so all last night I prayed to God that someone would help me, and then you showed up today."

Don't you love heart-warming stories like this.

Atheists how could events like this happen without a God?

Now, before you go getting offended, please understand that I'm being serious.
In the OT, if you sinned you could make a blood sacrifice to god.
In the NT, Jesus was the final, human sacrifice to pay for sins.
Why does god like blood so much?
Aren't you just bribing him to overlook your misdeeds by giving him what he wants: Blood?

There are many warnings pertaining to not messing around with the witchboard. It is said that you will only come into contact with the evil spirits. However, people still use it for various reasons, such as out of pure curiosity or even for fun. They sell these strange objects at the local stores as toys. Has anyone out there played around with it and what was your experience? Maybe that is why so many strange things are happening in the world today. Too many doorways are being opened for these creatures.
