We evolved a taste for fat, salt and sugar because they are rare in nature. They are essential part of the diet in moderation, and survival was assisted by seeking out those foods where they existed. Most wild animals don't contain much fat and sweet fruit is rare (uncultivated most fruit is bitter) and very seasonal. So we like the foods because they used to be rare. Now we can manufacture them in phenomenal quantities, but we haven't lost our taste for them as exotic rarities.
Another accurate answer based on evolution. You're welcome.

It's instinct run amok. The flavors added to food are those that are present in foods that we prefer in nature. What's happened though is that with the amount of processing, the flavors that we like, like sweet, and fat are concentrated and amplified.
One local natural food store has a great idea for what to buy in the grocery or at a restaurant. If you can make it in your own kitchen, it's probably ok. Still, most people today eat a very small variety of foods. Try adding a number of new foods to your diet... vegetables you haven't tried before. Buy them fresh instead of canned. Frozen is better than canned, but fresh is best.

God didn't have anything to do with man's choice of making artificial sweeteners and new methods of frying, breading, or otherwise fattening up our food. God didn't make growth hormones for our livestock or Twinkies. The choices that humanity have made on what to create for consumption were not handed down from a divine source. Unless your bible has a cookbook section.....
Actually, there's some kind of diet called "The makers diet" I don't know how close it is to referencing the bible but it is bible based.

Honey God did not make us that way, we made ourselves that way. He give us free will and that is why we get into so much trouble. We do what feels good or taste good and don't think about what is good. We like to blame God for all the bad things in this world, when He give us so much good. We have to make the right decisions even if they're hard and not well liked. The gift of Free Will is a big responsibility and we must use it wisely.

Have you never owned or been around dogs? They would eat nothing but donuts soaked in bacon grease if it was available.
And, every animal, given the opportunity, will overeat.

Animals actually prefer food that's bad for them too, they just don't have that 'good stuff' available to them. (My dogs *much* prefer greasy french fries and fat from steak and chocolate to their dry lamb and rice meal!)

God didn't do that. Popular culture did that. Did God bombard you with McDonald's ads when you were a kid. Society is at fault for hooking us on this garbage.

God doesn't make you do anything.. We call it freedom of choice. yes we can get tempted but how we decided how to handle the temptation is our choice. I.E eating fast food rather than your veggies.

Okay, here's what you do. Get yourself a dog. Pour out some antifreeze on your garage floor. Put your dog in front of it and see what happens.
After the burial, ask us again why animals only prefer to eat what's good for them.
