Religion & Spirituality - 8 January 2007

Ok I've been a Christian [Methodist] all my life [I'm 14] & go to church almost every week. But I have this thing w. those TV preachers on the religious channel & FOX late at night .. I can't stand watching em!

For 1, they scare me. This one guy that is always on always talks about how soon the end of the world is going to be & twists everything into a sign of it! I watched his show once & got totally freaked out.

Another thing is all their views contradict one another & I'm not sure if what they say is correct or not, you never know! They could be brainwashing their viewers or something..

& finally .. they bore me. Really bad. Sorry! I always try to pay attention & think about stuff in church [well usually lol] but its different when the guy is on TV.

So my main question is .. is it bad that I never watch/can't stand religious TV & much prefer MTV or Vh1 or something ?? Is it bad to skip over the Religious channel when channel surfing ??

19 years after the death of Muhammed, the scribes wanted to honor the prophet by adding two fake verses at the end of Sura 9. Ali was outraged and vehemently maintained that the word of God, written down by the hand of His final prophet, must never be altered. When he was installed as the fourth Khalifa, a 50-year war erupted between the new Khalifa and his supporters on one side, and the distorters of the Quran on the other side. The distorters of the Quran finally won the war, and the "official" history that came to us represented the victors' point of view.

The first peacetime ruler after this lengthy and disastrous war was Marwan Ibn Al Hakam (died 65 AH/684 AD). One of the first duties he performed was to destroy the original Quran, the one that was so scrupulously written by the Prophet's own hand, "fearing it might become the cause of new disputes".

Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson says God told him storms and possibly a tsunami will hit America's coastline this year.

Robertson has made the predictions at least four times in the past two weeks.

every time i come on here, i see a question that has anger toward christians. fyi christians beleive they are sinners (do wrong before God)... they are not perfect by all means and certainly do not think they are any better than another person in this world -- they know they are sinners (sinners who met christ). Do not foolishly make a decision against Christ as he never stated follow my people... because He knows His followers are very much less than perfect, but He did state, "Follow Me". Why the anger at the Christians? and is it at all possible that a real christian really did find something important out? Christians who overshare do so because they believe they found something of great value... I think however, it is something deeper inside the heart that makes the anger toward the Christian..
please share your thoughts with me. thank you.

When you mention free will. Either they have it therefor God can do nothing to help them. Or God is all knowing and what god knows will happen, has to happen and man does not have free will. So he can't help himself. It is a dilemma for Christians, but there is no way out. OO

Do you think that even the smallest creatures (spiders, bugs, ants) are as equal as the bigger ones??

I go out of my way when i'm walking not to squash ants and bugs, if i see a bug introuble i'll save it just as you would if you saw a dog/cat introuble? and ants are great to just stop and watch.

Does anyone else feel this way??

I mean seriously they claim to be people of peace but they're battling against the Muslims, the Jews, the atheists, and even the Bhuddists! (well...not really...)

I no I'm young and all I'm going to be 18 on January 28th and I'm having trouble deciding if i should move out or not? I'm only a Junior in high school! But i had a life back home in Bullhead City Arizona! I have a boyfriend there that we've been dating since May 06,2005 and well a good school a social life! But i come to the crossroads in life should i move out and finish school there where i want or stay here with the bullshit school that i go to! I was way popular and had a good reputation in that town and then i moved here and well it dropped to NULL like freaking seriously i want my life back! Another thing I'll be living with my boyfriend unmarried and yes i understand that its a sin but i just dont like it here in this place no more i just don't well if you can help me that would be awesome and some answers plz!
