Fun and education. (For us; for them.)

I wondered if anyone got a cracked rib in that Benny Hinn video.

Atheists are not weird. Atheists are constantly atttacked by the religious majority. Contrary to the First Amendment, Christians are always forcing their religion on others (school prayer, "creation science in the biology classroom, Ten Commandments in courtrooms, etc.).

Why do Christians act weird?

And Atheists fight Christians because Christians are trying to force everyone else to live by their bible. If they could learn to keep their religion to themselves, Atheists would let it go.

Why is it that most Christians have such a hard time understanding that?

Christians are conformists. They don't really even need to be saved, but they do feel a need to belong and be like a bunch of other people.

Atheists are the opposite. They are non-conformists. I have seen them in groups, but there is always a sense of discomfort - and it's not just because those groups usually only have one woman to about 20 horny heterosexual men. It's also the concept that they are non-conformists congregating with a group of like people... which makes no sense in the long run. That might be why they rarely organize and form a powerful, oppressive church. On the other hand, they are strongly opposed to the forces of conformity - particularly conformity that has no secular functional purpose. They are angry because conformists always push to cram their beliefs down others' throats and this is seen as violent insult to non-conformists.

Conformist Christians also deny access and resources to those that do no conform. If you do not declare being a Christian, and since many women claim to be Christian, relationships are frequently denied to atheists because they are non-Christian (or non-some other religion). This sort of emotional violence on the part of the religious is an active deprivation of basic human life experience and ANYONE hates that experience. I would even go so far as to say that oppression through the withholding of personal and romantic relationships is the single greatest fuel to atheist anger and hatred. Such "Christian" behavior belies the concept of forgiveness and understanding and is the best promotion of hate I can imagine. Once you have set such a stage - basically informally declaring someone to be part of some other species - to dehumanize them - and to demand conformity instead - a conformity they find offensive and illogical (and proven so by Christian behavior) - this is all psychological warfare methods to prepare someone else to kill someone else: they are not human, so you would never marry them, date them, do business with them, hire them, treat them as an equal, treat them with respect. All these crimes are the crimes of many, many that call themselves "Christian."

That said, there is nothing "weird" about how atheists behave. They react as humans would if they were ostracized and treated poorly by an oppressive majority. Their rage is sometimes out of whack, but frequently those unstated reasons are silently affirmed within the groups.

To sum it up, "Christian" oppressive behavior is why atheists hate "Christians."

Christians do not understand atheists because they have not developed in that direction. Perhaps they will always be content with the lies they live because they will be lucky enough to never be deprived of the benefits of how they oppress others. But if the veil of deceit is ever removed, then perhaps you will understand atheist anger.

Atheists, however, are almost always angry. They religiously insist there is no God and have not yet realized that this too is religious certainty to which they cling and with which they hope to oppress others (mostly to get revenge on their old religion).

Beyond that is agnosticism. There you realize that you don't really know if God is real or not and that the presumption of either is - as clearly stated in Ecclesiastes - VANITY. Another way to state it is "taking the Lord's name in vain," but most "Christians" do not understand what I mean when I say that they egotistically presume to speak for God. They do NOT really know, but they pretend that they do. They pretend to have "a personal relationship" to something they cannot begin to fathom in their finite lives. No, they do not understand and they clearly lie when they say they do, but I also recognize from my past the comfort in such lies.

People fear agnosticism because they fear uncertainty. They want life to come with directions because that would be easy. Some want it so badly that they can't tell the difference between wanting what is easy and wanting what is real. My beliefs drive them crazy because they cannot handle difficult. So their "truth" is an easy "truth."

This is why Christians cannot comprehend agnostics. Those agnostics like myself do not usually bother to explain because we remember what it was like to live in the world of "easy" religion and in some ways miss it. In other ways, we recognize that if life had not nudged us onto the path of deeper spiritual understanding that we would have - in our great comfort - never felt the need to leave what we were doing before. Now I obsess about the truth. I sometimes miss the lie I used to call "the truth" but really it was the feeling of acceptance, power, and self-righteousness.

Sure, there are many less mature agnostics out there. Perhaps they earn the title "fence-sitter" or perhaps they are really followers of Ayn Rand and realize that if they told the truth they would be more ostracized than pretending to be an agnostic. Yeah, a lot of "agnostics" out there...

Anyhow, perhaps that answers the deeper question imbedded in your inquistion.

You know, it is kinda'true though. No one leaves each other alone anymore. You don't have people being nice anymore to each other. Just to be mean and to tell them why they're not as good or wrong for not being the same. Accept each other and stop judging. No one knows what's right and what wrong so stop. Stop worrying about others and love your neighbor. Just stop! Believe what ever you believe and leave everyone else alone!!!!

Weird is all a matter of perspective. I think taking the words of an ancient book for absolute, unyielding truth is extremely weird.

Really? If you take 5 random atheists and put them in a room with 95 believers, chances are you couldn't tell who was who.

I disagree with you. I'm a Christian and I've had friends that are atheists and they didn't act weird. Why do you say that? God bless u.

I don't know...could it be because we enjoy debating? Or maybe its because we think its important that people know that Christianity is illogical and there are other options besides believing in a god? Or maybe being its fun watching all your reactions?
