And im being serious. This quote comes from one of the greatest thinkers in Greek History. Epicurus. For those of you who are religious, don't call me a blasphemer or resort to old Bible cliches, try to give me a reasonable, thought out response. Ok. here's the quote (this is not EXACT, but basically it):

Is God willing but not able to prevent evil? Then he is incompetent.
Is God able but not willing to prevent evil? Then he is malevolent
Is He able and willing to prevent evil? Then why does evil exist?
Is He neither able nor willing to prevent evil? Then why call him God?

I happen to love this quote (and yes, im an Agnostic for those of you who wonder). I just want to see what other's think.

No bones about it-we who live in the now are better prepared for death than those that live with this fantasy hope of a place called heaven-if you look to the stars and allow your mind to travel into space-will dying allow you to see those same stars? Once your dead your eye-balls will rot outta your head and your brain will no longer function-do you suppose that is why almost every description of heaven in The Bible is realtivly easy to compare to what you see on and above Earth? Your God still has stars in heaven-well that is because back before man had invented a way to reach the stars the only way to do it was through the imagination. Did you ever think that their might be a galaxy of stars within your own body? Well? Of course you have and maybe you are God to some other intelligent life as YOU ARE A UNIVERSE TO THEM! Imagination in the eyes of the Creator! Your Imagination! But heaven was created by the imagination of men wanting something better than their suffering!

I love God and Jesus, but I really hate church. It's boring and I don't really like the people either. The little kids whine too much and the old geezers always say my hair is too long(it's because they're all bald). Oh, and all the kids in my confirmation class do is text message each other and talk about who called who a what at school. Plus, we have to go to these stupid Christian youth gatherings. As soon as I'm done with confirmation I'm gonna stop going to church.

that is to say, can what he does ever be called good or bad? or is it just "god" doing what he does? so if he orders the death and destruction of the entire world, save noah and his family, is he doing something bad? if he was to save the life of a premature baby would it be considered good? if god only does what god does and we are not able to judge him against a higher moral standard than him then we must also admit that Katrina was a miracle as much as grandma's successful surgery: neither one was good, nor bad, and neither one was more difficult for this god. that said, wouldn't it make sense, then, to say that feeling sorry for people afflicted by god's miracles is to judge what god is doing on a scale higher than god himself?

From Jesus Transcripts:

" Indeed, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God." [Luke 18:25 ]

"Looking at his disciples, he [Jesus] said: "Blessed are you who are poor , for yours is the kingdom of God." [ Luke 6:20 ]

Then why are so many Christians growing increasingly wealthy? Just look at televangelists!!!! I mean come on they preach and preach and preach and then they earn ten times more money than the average person earns in a lifetime. Also, there's also Christian companies that specialize in marketing "Christian" goods...you know what I mean. If they claim to be so religious, then why are they so interested in money???

P.S. I know there are poor Christians- duh. I'm just saying that many Christians seem to be intentionally ignoring many of the things that Jesus said.

Quran 7.179 YUSUFALI: Many are the Jinns (GENIES) and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning).

So, the poor people and magical Genies (Jinn) never had a chance!! Allah says "Many are...made for hell". Holy cow, what a sick sick sick freak Allah is, I mean, he makes living beings in advance, knowing he will torture them in helll...he just "made them from hell"!

Wow, I mean, no vision of satan or any evil could be worse than Allah. This is one disgusting nasty freak.

Many Christians say that god has helped them and give many examples on how they were in a car accident and almost died, blah blah, But...For those of you who have said that,

How do you know that maybe "god" was the one who made you have the car accident?? Maybe it was "god" who put you in a coma, and luck brought you back...did you ever think of that??

The theory of evolution does a decent job of explaining how man came from apes. What it does not answer is WHY do we wear clothing. People have been wearing clothing for a lot longer than religious institutions have existed so it cannot be that. There are many cultures that do not wear clothing for protection but only to cover up certain parts of their bodies (not always the same areas for all cultures). So evolutionarily speaking, Why do people wear clothing.

Faith in Jesus brings our Righteousness that God requires for our salvation. However, God said that you must deny yourself and take up your cross and follow me. I know If you have real faith God will provide the works. This concept is so hard, I don't even know what I am asking you. Ok, how do I know that I am a disciple of the Lord?

This question is actually only directed to Christians who believe in evolution. Please no anti-evolution stuff.

So I would assume that being Christian means you believe in heaven. So at which point on the evolutionary timetable do you think people started going to heaven? In other words, if you believe animals don't go to heaven and people do, there would have to be a specific time where our ancestors were no longer considered animals and where then humans. I am just curious to see what people think on this subject. Also, give me some of you other ideas on the subject (ie you believe all animals go to heaven too).

Testimony....well, I was supposed to die in a car accident about two years ago, but God was protecting me. I got laid off of my job and had no money for rent, but He sent money in at the right time. I didn't have money to tithe, but I heard the Lord speak to my heart and say to tithe with what I had, food. I didn't have much, just enough for a few more days, and I had no money to buy food after that. I gave a struggling family just about everything I had, then went home and prayed and thanked God for using me to bless someone else. THe VERY NEXT DAY...someone took me grocery shopping and bought me $400 worth of food, I didn't even have room in my cabinets and icebox to hold everything.

A bullet went through my mothers car roof during New Years while she was driving, but she's still here unharmed.

I'm alive and well, I'm saved...I praise God for all he has done....what has he done for you?

I just read someone's answer and they said that God created us because this life is a test..... Do Christians really believe that??? I mean did your awesome god really put you through all this just to see if you passed the test? If this is the case being a high school drop out and an atheist kinda makes sense.

Insurance to prevent God from taking your stuff, seatbelt to prevent god from hurting you, and savings so that god can never make you go hungry.......isnt this a lack of faith in God? This is a lack of faith in Buddhism, Hinduism, Islam and the christianity of the mystics...... but modern christianity does not think so... anyone care to explain,,,,,,,
