No bones about it-we who live in the now are better prepared for death than those that live with this fantasy hope of a place called heaven-if you look to the stars and allow your mind to travel into space-will dying allow you to see those same stars? Once your dead your eye-balls will rot outta your head and your brain will no longer function-do you suppose that is why almost every description of heaven in The Bible is realtivly easy to compare to what you see on and above Earth? Your God still has stars in heaven-well that is because back before man had invented a way to reach the stars the only way to do it was through the imagination. Did you ever think that their might be a galaxy of stars within your own body? Well? Of course you have and maybe you are God to some other intelligent life as YOU ARE A UNIVERSE TO THEM! Imagination in the eyes of the Creator! Your Imagination! But heaven was created by the imagination of men wanting something better than their suffering!

Religious people aren't actually 'people'. Their intelligence isn't nearly what it needs to be to be considered a human being. They're the descendants of the wild kenyan blackbacked apes of east africa.

Get the movie called What the bleep do we know. this is a really good movie about quantum mechanics and it goes along with some of the ideas you posed in your question. i forget who said it but when asked, this person said to the question of what death would be like " i was dead for an eternity before i was born so i would think going back to that state should be no big mystery". religious people have every reason to fear death in their own minds. their god is very unpleasent if it dosent get it's way. it's a pity to see people trapped in the dogma of religion. it just steals their minds away, and the really sad thing is that right now there are millions of little kids getting their first lessons in fear from their own parents. im happy my parents were free thinkers and not bogged down by religion.

Or, it is like a heavy rain from the clouds, wherein is thick darkness and thunder and lightning; they put their fingers into their ears because of the thunder claps for fear of death, and Allah encompasses the disbelievers.

Verily, in the creation of the heavens and the earth and in the alternation of the night and the day, and in the ships which sail in the sea with that which profits men, and in the water which Allah sends down from the sky and quickens therewith the earth after its death and scatters therein all kinds of beasts, and in the change of the winds and the clouds pressed into service between the heaven and the earth - are indeed Signs for the people who use their understanding.

Hast thou not heard of him who disputed with Abraham about his Lord, because Allah has given him kingdom? When Abraham said, 'My Lord is He Who gives life and causes death,' he said, 'I also give life and cause death.' Abraham said, 'Well, Allah brings the sun from the East; bring it thou from the West,' Thereupon the infidel was confounded. And Allah guides not the unjust people.

Just because you haven't been there, doesn't mean it doesn't exsist. There are cities and towns around this globe that I have never been to or even seen or even know of someone who has. It would be very arrogant and small minded of me to declare they don't exsist and to declare those who say these places do exsists are crazy or just immagining them. I know some folks who have been to heaven and returned and I know the Lord of the Universe who currently is in Heaven - Jesus and I have learned that He is very trustworthy in all that He says so I take Him at His word that heaven exsists and that my spirit will join Him someday. Those who don't know Him, will never know eternal life, let alone heaven. I wish they would and so does Jesus but He won't force anyone to follow Him or believe Him. He's not a control freak.

No Sir, you are wrong, very wrong, and I wont debate hou point by point. waste of time. But, ppl like you wont hear truth, as it means giving up all the sin they have now. The only ones that know what will be when they die are those who love God, know His word and obey Him. As far as us making up heaven jsut because we need to think of something better than our suffereing Oh man. Let me help you out. God created Heaven to end our suffereing. Whether you ever believe that or not, thats what is. and Heaven is snothing like earth. God tells us no more sickness, no sorrow or pain. no more tears. What our world could be like now, if all would just simply follow God. Sin has made this a place of extreme degradtion of every kind of low down perversion that any man could ever possibly dream of, and remember those not of God have help. It is the devil that leads them, even when they dont know ir or even believe in God or a devil. Whther you believe it or not, its true. God tells us that one day, even the mountains will bow and know He is God. That means you too. BUt, if you wait till you die or Jesus comes, which ever comes first, its too late to change your mind. Jesus died for us all, and yet you mock Him. What else did He need to do for you. Its still not too late, and I pray you will see that, hit your knees and ask for forgivness and then repent and ask Jesus into your heart, and follow Him before its too late. God made the stars, He made it all. the sun. All that so brightly shine for you. You are the one that has an imagination that is not of God. devil leads you to that thinking and you run with it. Cuz, if you run to God, you gotta give up living like you life, and begin to lead a holy life. Well, let me tell you, there is nothing on this earth, and I mean NOTHING that is worth giving up God and Heaven for. One day you will bow and call Him God, and I pray its not too late. Read scripture and pray. Find out for yourself, before you so easily give it all up for hell. No, we arent God to someone else. There is only one God God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit, the blessed trinity. Just cuz you dont believe it doesnt make it not so. Wait till you see a miracle of someone you love bieng heaed from a terminal illness after prayer, then you tell me there is no God. and yes I have been there. many of us have. SO much about the Bible has been proven true, plus what we see in our own lives. Archeologists are continually finding new evidecne. But, if you want to listen to false sciene and believe in evolution and all that, help yourself. In 1 Tim 6:20, God tells us to leave false knowledge, (science ) that goes contrary of His word, cuz He knew what would come. Pretty smart this GOd, to know this years ago, in the very beginniing and putting it in the Bible to warn us.
ITs all there bud. Noone knows when there time is up Dont put it off too long, to find out truth about God. ALl you gotta do is ask Him and He will show you truth.

I am religious and I can't say for certainity what will happen when I die, but I am not Christian but Wiccan. We do have theories, but we do understand that there are no absolutes and only our beliefs which are our personal truths. Religion is humankinds attempt to to and explain the unexplainable, but of course you did say that, just not in those exact words. And I agree.

Perhaps you should watch "A Miracle on 34th Street". Then, take a page out of the judge's book.

Is it better to live a lie that brings a smile, or a truth that brings a tear?

But you know, whatever.

Sorry handsome, we part ways here. I know that I have a soul. My soul will live on, including other lifetimes. Religion has nothing to do with the eternal life of our souls.

The term "realist" generally infers knowledge. You can't be realistic from a starting point of ignorance. Atheism is ignorance of reality, in fact of the ultimate reality, and therefore nothing that emanates from atheism can be considered "realistic".
