I just read someone's answer and they said that God created us because this life is a test..... Do Christians really believe that??? I mean did your awesome god really put you through all this just to see if you passed the test? If this is the case being a high school drop out and an atheist kinda makes sense.

Ok here's the exact text:
God created people and he gave them the choice of believing because this life is a test.
And yes I am an atheist and god didn't make me do anything did I say that he did I wasn't aware that I did.

Saying life is a test is a way to defend the existance of god when you are having doubts. Its the same way people will say that god created dinosaurs to test our faith. What kind of god would set up people like that? It really bothers me. And hey, cutting school was always fun! I think I will go have a cigarette behind the gym!

Let's put it like this, If you had a bunch of people around you always telling you how wonderful you are and how much they love you but they did it simply because they were created to be that way, would you ever want to know if they would really love you if they were not "programed" to love you? We, like in God's image, are eternal beings. The bible says that God knew all of us from before the foundations of the earth. I can only imagine that when we existed before time we lavished our adoration for God without the free will to do otherwise because sin or rebellion against God is not tolerated in heaven. I wouldn't call this life a test but an opportunity to learn about and love God out of our own free will and not because we have no other choice. The grace of God has afforded all human beings the choice to love and obey Him or not. However, just as the bible says there is a time for all things. While we live in this portion of our eternal existence we are in the time of God's unfailing, open, and endlessly available grace and mercy. But when this life is over and it is time for our spirits to stand before Him the only grace and mercy given will be to those who have accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior or in other words are able to present to God the only payment He will accept for the multitude of sins committed in this life.

God created us to have a personal relationship with Him. Pure and simple- we messed up, and because God still wanted a personal relationship He sent His Son to die on the cross for us. God already knew we would not pass the test, but He created us anyway, desiring us to come to Him through Jesus. Does that make any sense?

Why would it make sense to be a high school drop out and an atheist. Life is a test and he gave us free will to see if we really love him and believe in him.

Of course life is a test. That makes way more sense than athieism. Everyone is challenged and tested differently. Thats why judging people is so wrong. You don't know what other people are going through. What might be easy for you might really be hard for them and vice versa. I think that athieism is an easy way out for people who don't want to think about the whole plan of salvation. Denial can be an ugly thing.

Not sure why they are saying this life is a test. You left out a good deal of the context.
The answer is that God puts us here to love one another and to be loved by Him. There is no test. We cannot pass any test. Only God's graciousness allows us to spend eternity with Him.

The only Test there is would be Do you believe Jesus is your Lord and Savior.... As it say in John 3:16 " For God so loved the world, That he gave his only begotten son. That whosoever believeth in him should not parish but ,have everlasting life"
Now after you accept him as you Lord and savior you are going to heaven for from this point on all you need do is ask and he will forgive you for your transgressions against him.....
Now, by looking at the past answers I know I have a negative coming but all I can say is God bless you and you will be in my prayers.....

No this is a false statement. God made you a free agent. He gives us all a choice. A choice to serve Him or satan. There is a way to serve God, however satan is the prince of the earth and has decieved most people into serving him. You have to read. the bible speaks of nothing but words. Words do have meanings. The choice is yours. It's not a test.

This life will give us one of two tickets to eternal life, depending if we accepted or not the Lord Jesus as our Lord, God and Saviour and -because of this acceptance- live the rest of this live acoording to his will.
About that eternity, in Romans chapter 2 you can read:
«5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;»
Due to the fact that we can't do good by ourselves we need to be saved. The only Saviour is Jesus: In Acts 4 you can read:
«12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.»
One of the wills of God for us is found in 1 Th. 4 and talks about a life of holliness:
«3 For this is the will of God, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:»

We were created to give God the honor and praise. If you want to see it as a test, I don't see a problem with it. We are going to be judged one day for our actions and on that day you will now if you are going to live an eternity with Him or an eternity with the devil.
