Yeah, I tend to not like church, either. Now, don't get me wrong. I have been to some services that were really good.
But there also tends to be a lot of hypocrisy, backbiting, slander, gossip, and malice among church people. Nowadays, I just have an individual spiritual life.
And btw, what you just described brought back memories of my church youth group back when I was in high school. Only back then, text messaging wasn't really around (actually, it might have been, but it wasn't very prevalent--we're talking late 1990s, here). The other kids were nice to me when we were at church, but didn't seem to want anything to do with me at school or anywhere else. There was a guy in the youth group who was my age, and I would talk to him at church off and on. But I would approach him at school, and he would just brush me off and hang out with his other friends.
Memories, memories. heh

I love God, but I cannot say I love the church. If you really love God, you will have no hatred in your heart at anything. You will even love your enemies and those who persecute you and do all things of evil against you.
Well it is a sad fact. Read the Bible and you will understand why.
In Revelation 12 it says that the devil or the dragon spewes water from his mouth to try to drown the woman, which is the symbol of the church and water is the symbol of "people or nations".
In other words the devil is infiltrating the Church with his people so that the true and sincere people like you and me will be discouraged and leave the church.
Revelation 12:15 So the serpent spewed water out of his mouth like a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood.
But we should not allow the devil to win. We should do our best with our influence to withstand the attack of the devil.
That's what I am doing with through His power and grace.

My church isn't all that great either. I just always feel totally uncomfortable sometimes and the preacher always try to make you feel guilty if you are not clapping and shouting like everybody else. I just know that it is not attending church that saves us. A lot of people who shout and sing for the Lord are doing from a sincere heart but even more of them are not spiritual at all. God looks at our hearts always.
I don't think that our church attendance is that important. I believe that loving God and other people and demonstrating that love in everyday life is what pleases God. While you're sitting in Church it is good to praise God and hear the Word but it is in your daily life that you truly worship God in how you treat other people. I personally love a lot of preachers on TBN and learn a whole lot more than I do in live church.

Yes you can love God and hate church, trust me.
I got fed up with it in the third grade when they told me that all of the hypocrites I went to church with were going to heaven, and all the good people of other faiths were going to hell.
What an arrogant stupid thing to believe.
By the way that was 50 years ago and bald guys were telling me that my hair was too long way back then.
I think they are just jealous, how about you?
Love and blessings Don

sounds like you are trapped in a dead religion and religion is the word you are looking for. Church means the group of people who feel as you do about God and for the most part about religion. Some think the church is a building however in Scripture it refers to the "body" of Christ or all the true believers, some of whom go to buildings every Sunday.
so church means 2 or more gathered together and the Body means all Christians together

I love the Lord... but I don't like churches. Church is only for those who wants to show off and be self righteous of themselves and prove that they are religious and feel better than others.
Envy, jealousy, self righteousness, hatred, negativity, bigotry or back stabbing do exist in church everywhere for sure.... I experienced it before. Asian or American church are the same type of things. No differences between both. Full of arrogance and ignorance. I really felt unaccepted, uneasy and uncomfortable there. I remember they even didn't give me warm and acceptance at all. Instead I felt like a total outcast inside the church. They are too obssesed with their own flawless and spectacular service that could make you weep.
Until I found out that my own church is only in my heart. And no one could snatch me from it.

No, maybe you should change religion and try to find a religion that you prefer because church is not the same in all religions. I assume you are a Roman Catholic because you are doing your confirmation. My church is really interesting, it's kind of long but the father's preaching is always on point.

I believe in God but not the bible wich was written by man. I do not believe that the creator intervenes or has any intention to do so. The bible was written by people out for power. Catholagist-Jews wrote the new tesitment. After Publication the Sect broke apart from the Jewish Faith and started Christianity and The Church witch is a place for Clergy to hurt our children.

I love God and do what the bible says. In heaven there is not church. Being a member of a certain church will not get you to heaven. God searches the heart of a man. Churches are made by men to suit their own desires. So just do what the bible says.
God will judge your heart.

I was forced to go to church when I was a kid and I hated it. I stopped going when I moved away from home. A lot of people are very spiritual and don't go to church. If you think you want to, I would suggest finding another congregation, or perhaps denomination that is more in line with your values.
