You told a SERIOUS lie to prevent you from... swimming? Did you, like, invent an illness or phobia or something? I'm not making fun, I just don't understand. If I knew what exactly you said, I might be able to suggest how to handle it.

What would you do if you come to pearly gates only to find Lucifer there as your god? Wouldn't this be the ultimate in lies and deciet?
Whether or not this is true, would you still be making the same moral decisions you do on an everyday basis? You should. Whether the reward be heaven or Lucifer succeding in casting out God, should not affect the right moral decisions you make. If it did affect the right moral decisions you make, then you are living a lie. This would be a win win situation for Lucifer.
Only being able to make the right moral decisions without thinking of reward, will completely negate the above scenario. Reward should not affect what you think is right and what you think is wrong. In your religion, I believe an expected reward is considered temptation, which is a sin.
Do not expect anything in return for making donations. Just do what you feel is the morally right thing.
Tell the guy the truth. Life is about learning.

It would be easier to give you advice if I knew what was the nature of your lie. We all lie, unfortunately. Pray about it. God will reveal to you what you need to do with it. Give it time, do not continue that lie any further. Just leave it to God, He will deliver you the answer. Do not be impatient. Jesus die for all of our sins. Ask forgiveness and try to lie no more. Do not beat yourself over it. He probably has told you also something what is not exactly true. This is the way that we learn to forgive. We need to forgive also to ourselves.
One time I lied I was sick when I did not want to go to the school that day. I ended up in hospital operation room, and I could have told that I made it up. I was also 12 at the time. That is a funny age, but even at 15 you have a lot to learn about honesty. Like we all.

Tell the truth and ask to be forgiven. That is the only thing that will correct the problem. Don't try to make excuses--just come clean. If he truly cares about you and is a good Christian himself, he will forgive you and the wound will heal but don't expect him to trust you for a while. He may really wonder about other things you have told him in the past. Remember that you don't really deserve to be trusted either and take this as it is and don't blow it out of proportion. It will pass soon enough if you are truthful in things from here on out.

I kinda would like to know the lie you told, but,
If it is bothering you and if it wont make you look like a total
freak to this person and ruin his trust in you, you should
just tell him---hey ,do you remember when i told u this-----
it wasn't true and i hope this doesn't change the way you feel about me.(It really depends on what u said)
At any rate if you ever feel badly about a lie you told, all you need to do is confess it to the Lord and he will forgive you..Then move forward from there. Don't bring it up again.

From what you have said you are the only one who has been hurt by this so far. Learn the lesson of how much turmoil this untruth has caused you. When it comes up simply tell him why you made up the story, and laugh it off. If it doesn't come up let sleeping dogs lie. I know you think this is the end of the world but if the lie you told has done no one any harm simply ask God's forgiveness learn from it and move on.

That is what happens when people start telling lies. They start with one lie then they have to tell another to cover that one and then another and so on until it escalates, until they are telling a hundred lies and then they can't remember which lie they told to who.
Now you have two choices, since you say it never comes up you can pray and ask for forgiveness and let it go and STOP lying, or you confess to him and apologize and ask him to forgive you and PROMISE not to lie to him anymore.
I know it will be hard to tell him but I can tell you you will feel better and be a stronger person for it.

i'd be honest. i imagine you're baiting Christians, yet because you're keen to communicate about Christ i believe obliged to reply. in case you've faith that there is a God who created each and every thing interior the universe, and in case you've faith as Christians do, that he went so a procedures as to deliver his basically Son as a residing sacrifice to provide the basically mechanism to offset the sins we've all dedicated, then the question for you is: how can you "take a smash" from God. Do you've faith you've the flexibility to expose God off or derail His plans in any respect? it will be a failure of excellent judgment to imagine that your own alternatives might want to exert any type of administration of that being. you would possibly want to confirm now to not be counted on God, to consciously turn far flung from all the pieces He says are correct and solid. human beings try this each day, and it really is termed "sin". Sin continuously has a negative results of a few form, each and every now and then to you and typically to some different person. God does not opt for you to sin. the actual undeniable truth that sin makes you uncomfortable should be an noticeably solid indicator to you that that's genuine. Politics, technology, computing device video games, progression web content, and identifying to purchase at the instantaneous are not sins. mendacity, which some politicians do, is sin. Falsifying analyze, as some scientists have done, is a sin. taking section in pornographic computing device simulations (in many circumstances called video games) is a sin. progression web content that are loaded with content meant to slander God's call and spread hatred is a sin. identifying to purchase for adult men's spandex leotards should be sin, yet i imagine it really is a grey section. in case you care adequate to comic tale about it, possibly you should actually evaluate some the questions you're asking and impartially evaluate all the options.

Do the right thing which is to "fess up" or confess. Errors multiply when hidden. You don't want to give the devil anything to blackmail you with or keep telling one lie to cover up another. Tell the truth and it will set you free in your mind and in your walk with Christ. You feel convicted. That's good. You seem to be on the right track. Stop that lyin' though! LOL! God bless you!

Well, it's called a conscious and it is good that you have one. Don't be so down on yourself. Remember God forgives us so we should forgive ourselves. I'm sure in your own right you had a reason for the lie, but if you want to start a real relationship with this person you got to be honest. Follow your heart and have a talk with God. I promise you will feel better.
