Some children these days are forced to go to church and learn about the bible and are told it is all complete fact. And that science is all complete lies and to ignore it at all cost if it disrupts your religion. This is told to someone that instantly beleives in the tooth fairy easter bunny santa clause so on. How can this abuse of children be stoped.

I agree, in the sense that I believe a person's spiritual life to be of utmost importance, and interference with a person's spiritual development (against their will, or without knowledge and consent) to be the ultimate blasphemy.

I do not believe that a parent has a right to control the spiritual beliefs or development of their own child. The spirit is what separates man from animal. It is the one thing that each individual person completely and wholly owns from the day they are born until the day they die. It is the one thing that no other human being should be permitted to mess with, ever.

I'm not saying parents should never expose children to religion and so on. I'm saying that parents should not try to choose a child's religion for them. It's wrong, even for very young children. I believe it is even wrong to have an infant baptized, before they are able to understand its meaning. How dare anyone presume to commit another person to a religion while they are still too young to make a choice?

Teach by example. I see nothing wrong with rules and expectations for a child, and teaching them good human values. But please don't screw around with their soul. If you set a good example and treat them with love and respect, they're not likely to disappoint you.

Why is it abuse to teach your child about God?

Didn't you believe in Santa, the easter bunny and the tooth fairy and don't tell me you didn't?

Abuse? I'm not a church goer but I do realize that parents have the right to make certain decisions on behalf of their children... religion, diet, choice of home location. Choosing a religion is no more oppressive than choosing to send a child to a particular private school.

it can be stopped by educating the moronic parents! those parents are stunting their children by saying that science is full of lies! that is outrageous! i am ashamed of my fellow "christians." i grew up in an all christian household, and two months before my sister was confirmed, she decided that she was agnostic. my parents didnt put up a stink, they let her be. they respected her choices and let me figure my faith out on my own. i decided to be christian. parents should let their child igure their faith out on their own.

all depends on the parents. I will not teach my childern to worship in fairytails. The bible tells us not to worship false prophets.

Did your mom run into a table or something? Or, did she abuse you after you were born?

I rather teach my son that he comes from God rather than he comes from a MONKEY.

I rather tell my Son there is hope for the future rather than tell him that there is no HOPE.

YOU TELL YOUR CHILDREN WHAT YOU WANT, STAY OUT OF MY FAMILY!
