I read the Di Vinci code. It made me think a lot about stuff. It made me think about what everyone says about the Bible how it is right....how do we know. The people who read it I don't know if you get what I'm saying, but it really make you think. Does that make me a bad person. How is that different then me being of a different religion?

Someday I intend to become a Pastor or Theologian, living out a life of faith. I realize it will not be easy, but I feel it is a "calling" and this is truly what my heart is devoted and dedicated to, and I am surely willing to go forward with determination and will-power.. I am 14.. I am of Lutheran denomination, so yes, they recognize female Pastors, and yes, I would be allowed to marry and raise a family. But I want to know, what are some things I can do now? I am as involved with the church I attend as I can be, and I often write about my thoughts on faith, Christianity, etc... Currently I am reading, "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis...

How can I tell, over time, if it is my true "calling" to become a Pastor or a Theologian... I have the ambition for either.. I can do the research and the discussions, etc..That would go along with becoming a Theologian. I also have a desire to actually "spread the word' in terms of becoming a Pastor...

Any advice appreciated. Thanks. God bless!

"And God said, Let us make man in our image. after our likeness..............." Genesis 1:26 Of course there is more, but the first part is what I don't understand. What do the "us" and "our" mean? There are several verses where "God" says "us" and "our" after this. Please, if you know, or even think you know, why "us" and "our", and not "me" and "my"?

I know everyone wants to say that their own religion is the right one (and obviously they can't all be right), but I would like some guidance. If you sincerely believe that your faith is the one and only true and correct religion, please let me know what it is, and briefly state why you believe it is the one and only. I would be interested in hearing from all religions. My quest is to discover which way is right. I know it's gotta be out there somewhere. Also, if your religion happens to teach that "there is no one true religion", but rather there are "many paths which lead to God", and that "it doesn't matter which religion you follow", please let me know what your religious affiliation is, too.

Serious answers only, please. Thank you.

Not to make fun, or be cheeky. This is a real question. When you read something or see something or even experience something, do you see each thing through an open mind, or do you have the view that God is fake no matter what?
Please don't throw this back on me. I readily admit I see the world through a slanted lens.
I'm just curious about the nature of atheism. In other words, I guess I'm asking, are you compelled to believe this, or is it a conscious choice? I won't make fun of you either way, I promise. I just want to know.

I have been through a lot in the past couple of years, from 4 surgeries, two emergency hospitalizations, a major broken heart, the death of an old friend and unemployment. I try to keep my faith and accept that God knows where he's taking me, But how do I believe this when I feel like he's forgotten me?

Oh I can hear the moderate and right-wing Christians howling right now. Chill out a second.

Yea, Im serious, but heres why. You see, whether you like it or not, these Leftists who apologize for Islamists and "expose" the Abu Ghrabs and invent new pro-islamist arguments that Jihadists never thought of and eventually parrot back in their Jihadists propaganda...uhh...almost all of them are Christians.

Yea, Christians, and if you say "there not real Christians", youve totally totally missed the point nimrod.

You see, Im agnostic, I am not arguing what "true Christianty is", I am merely pointing out that the super soft weak left-wing that makes out hatefilled Islamist enemies salivate were all raised in a Christian background and still identify with Christianty.

Many of them actually claim to be "literalists" as well, they literally believe in "love your enemy". I wish Darwin were here to give his view of "love your enemy". Didnt the Romans perish after Christianity spread?

Christians:
If you were adopted as a baby by muslims, taken to Iran and still lived there today, do you think you would still be a christian?

Muslims:
If you were adopted as a baby by Christians, taken to the US and
still lived with them today do you think you would still be Muslim?

There are rare cases of people being raised in one religion and later converting to another, but don't you find it odd that GEOGRAPHY is the most important factor in determining a person's religion?

For example:
If Born & raised in U.S.............85% chance you are a christian.
If Born & raised in Iran.............98% chance you are a muslim.

The overwhelming majority of people follow the religion of either their parents or a dominant religion in their community.

What does this say to you about religion?

All science does is uncover the mysteries of the universe. It's self-correcting and is always evolving. Once something is proven true by careful observations by science, then it is true. For example, when people were so sure the Earth was the center of the universe. Then science stepped in a proved that we go around the sun.

Or Evolution, people just assume that humans are so special that we were created seperately. Then science steps in and shows us that all life, humans included, evolved through natural selection. Given enough time, matter evolves into consciousness. It's hard for some to see Evolution because humans only live a very short time. Evolution takes billions of years to work. Just look around at the beautiful diversity of the biological world to see it's work.

In the name of God, the Gracious, the Merciful

He it is Who created you from dust, then from a sperm-drop, then from a clot; then He brings you forth as a child; then He lets you grow, so that you attain your full strength; and afterward become old - though some among you are caused to die before - and that you may reach a term appointed and that you may learn wisdom.

Verily, We have warned you of a punishment which is near at hand - a day when man will see what his hands have sent on before and the disbeliever will say, 'Would that I were mere dust!'

And We did raise among every people a Messenger with the teaching, 'Worship God and shun the Evil one.' Then among them were some whom God guided and among them were some who became deserving of ruin. So travel through the earth and see what was the end of those who treated the prophets as liars!

And your Lord says, 'Pray unto ME; I will answer your prayer. But those who are too proud to worship ME will, surely, enter Hell, despised.

Holy Quran

Shall we then be raised up again?
