Job 38:4-7;
Angels see earth prepared.
They are called morning stars and sons of God.
Job 2:1,2;
Satan was with the sons of God.
John 17:3,5,24; Col.1:15-17; Rev.3:14; 22:16;
Jesus is first creation created in the image of God. Heb.1:1-13; He is above all angels.
If that is not why he is called bright and morning star, then I do not know why.

John 1 says God is light.
Revelation 21:22-24 "I did not see a temple in the city, because the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are its temple. The city does not need the sun or the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and the Lamb is its lamp. The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their splendor into it."
The new heaven will shine with the Glory of God and will not need son. This is the new earth that is created. In the age of prophecies we are in the night. Jesus told pariables about keeping watch in the hours of the night for Him to return.
Mark 13:35 - "Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn."
Jesus refers multiple times to keep watch, and the timeframe is night. The New Earth will happen at the end of the present age and Christ Himself will be the bright and morning star.
(This is how I understand it from what I've read)

Jesus is the 'Light of the World' in Christianity. A bright star gives off a lot of light.
Interesting you should ask this... Yesterday was the Epiphany and our opening hymn in church was "Brightest and Best of the Stars of the Morning."

Because He brings light to the World, in a dark Era.
Revelation 22:16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star.
