Christians have baptisms, Jews have the briss, what about muslims.

Adam was the first man, right?
Eve was the first woman, correct?
They had two kids, Cain, and the Undertaker...I mean Abel.

The Bible says that Cain and Abel took wives.

This means that the family God created to show us how much he loves us was a murderous, incestuous and totally dysfunctional. You do the math, dear. Let's just say that that apple was not the last forbidden thing that troublesome trollop Eve put in her mouth!

Apparently sin is why we die. It kills us, so I've been told. HOW does it do that? Like... I understand how a heart attack kills and how Leukemia kills... could someone explain to me how sin kills?

This is something I seriously don't understand. Please, Christians, enlighten me.

God is All-knowing. When somebody ask the question on here like "Why does God allow an innocent baby to have a disease?", most answers say it's our own fault for sinning, or it satan's fault, or human's screwed up the world. You know the sort of answers.

But God is All-knowing. He knew it would happen. He knew we would screw up or sin or listen to satan or whatever. The answer "free will" also makes completely no sense to me, an All-knowing God would still know what was going to happen.

So, does He allow to let it happen? Or does He choose to be less All-knowing than He is? Or isn't He All-knowing? Or? Or?

Really, I don't get it.

I believe in fairytale, true, unconditional love..... Why is it so rare to find these days? Does true, everlasting love still exist in the 21st century?

If he could come back and see the church people (who have the temerity to call themselves "Christian"), what would be his reaction?

Their religion is nothing like the religion he had.

Moreover, they make him look like an idiot. If he actually could come back, what would he say? What would he do?

Church people are fond of saying that if you don't believe in Jesus, Jesus is not amused (not in those words); I myself would be even less amused by people making me look like an idiot, wouldn't that be a normal reaction?

They say he's coming back, but they ought to be glad he isn't.

What?

I am interested in learning what is in the Qu'ran. I can't find a copy anywhere. I've checked bookstores and our library. Is it that we as Americans don't want them on the shelves, or is it religiously forbidden for it to be printed in English?
I'm always curious to learn about other religions.
What are some other sources I can look at also????

i know that posting this in the religion section will get a lot of hateful answers, but i want you to think before answering.

i am pro-chice because i feel that every abortion situation is different.

for example: a 13 year old had sex with her boyfriend and got pregnant. she will have to quit school, depend on her parents to support her AND the baby, miss out on an important developement time for HER, most likely live off minimum wage for the rest of her life because of the time she missed in school. the boyfriend, being a teenage boy, freaked out, and refuses to support her and denied having sex with her.

or another scenario, a 26 year old, college grad, with a steady boyfriend and an above minimum wage job has sex with her boyfriend. she gets pregnant and wants to get rid of the baby. she could support it, her boyfriend is willing to get married and help her, and the baby would be born during a stable time in the parents' life.

who should get an abortion?

I just saw someone claim that babies die because of sin. I can't think of any sin that a newborn might've committed. Is it original sin that causes them to die? Or does the existence of sin in general kill them? If that's the case, how does that work? Exactly how does Joe's sin kill little baby Bobby?

I just saw this video on Yahoo and wonder what your thoughts are on this? I personally think it is ridiculous, but as an atheist I have no use for any religion. But I guess to each their own. :)

I know that not all young people are without God, but it really seems as though the young people these days have no limits to the immoral life style they live. What do you say? Do you think this generation needs more prayer? What say you?

My sister goes out on the road for the first time with her husband the truckdriver. At a very large truckstop she was confronted by another woman while passing in the restroom. She smiled and looked into my sisters face and told her that she had a sick mother. Our mother has a rare form of cancer that lies in the lining of her veins. This shocked my sister as there was no way she could have known her. She told her that mom was worse last year then got better, and now its come back, "is it cancer?" she asked, and told her that everything would be allright. She then proceded to tell her things about my sister that only her and God knew. When my sister asked how she knew, she told her that the Holy Spirit laid it upon her heart, but she hadn't used this gift in many years, then she told her that her daughter would also be fine. My neice is only 15 and preagnant. We have been raised very conservative Christians and want to believe, but how can this woman have this gift and not one of us?..

Is it possible for an individual to see from two separate points of view simultaneously? I'm speaking of the sacred and the secular, or Atheism and Theism. Would it be like switching from a telescope to binoculars?
