Adam was the first man, right?
Eve was the first woman, correct?
They had two kids, Cain, and the Undertaker...I mean Abel.

The Bible says that Cain and Abel took wives.

This means that the family God created to show us how much he loves us was a murderous, incestuous and totally dysfunctional. You do the math, dear. Let's just say that that apple was not the last forbidden thing that troublesome trollop Eve put in her mouth!

Abel never married, honey. He was killed by Cain, remember? You are probably thinking of Seth.

Being the progenitors of the entire human race, Adam and Eve had daughters as well as sons. Laws concerning incestual relationships weren't given for several thousand years, so it was not a problem. Up until a few hundred years ago, some cultures on this continent (North America) still practiced the marriage of close relatives.

God created people to have fellowship with them, and made them a replicating species. Big, hairy deal. Yes, the first family was dysfunctional. God did NOT make them that way: that was THEIR CHOICE. God's will does not always get done. Humans have a way of sticking their wills into the cogs, like a monkey wrench. Happens all the time.

Here is a thought: Since we can ultimately trace our ancestry back to the same people, isn't it REALLY STUPID to hate another person because they may be "different"? Why not look at the Biblical account of creation as a reason to support universal brotherhood? We aren't all that different, anyway.

If you took the time to actually read the Bible, you would see that Adam and Eve had other sons and daughters, they just weren't talked about. Yes brothers and sisters married, but this wasn't bad at the time bc the law against marrying a close relative hadn't been given yet. Bc Adam and Eve were created perfect, their genes were perfect, so there would be no big risk for genetic problems until several generations down. Which is why in the Torah God later gave that law.

For one thing this question gets asked 50 times a day, its not the first time its been asked nor answered.

Also, Adam and Eve did not only have Cain and Abel, they were told to be fruitful and multply BEFORE the fall, and before Cain and Abel. God told Eve when they sinned that He will greatly INCRESE her pains in childbirth, so she had to have children before then to increse anything. Cain and Abel where only the first to be written about. Yes, Cain married a relative, by that time its not known if it was a sister or a cousin but it was not a law yet that you could not marry a sibling or cousin, therefore it was not a sin to do so.

Genesis 4:17 says, "Cain lay with his wife, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Enoch." Who was his wife? It is implied in the biblical text that Cain married one of his sisters. Several facts lead us to this conclusion.
First, it is clear that Adam and Eve had a number of children. Genesis 5:4 says, "After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters." Since Adam and Eve were the first man and woman, and since God had commanded them (and their descendants) to be fruitful and multiply (Genesis 1:28), it seems reasonable to conclude that Cain married one of his many sisters. It is also possible that he married a niece or even a grandniece.
One must keep in mind that in the early years of the human race there were no genetic defects that had yet developed as a result of the fall of man. By the time of Abraham, God had not yet declared this kind of marriage to be contrary to His will (see Genesis 20:12). Laws governing incest apparently did not become enacted until the time of Moses (Lev 18:7-17; 20:11,12,14,17,20,21). Hence, there was no prohibition regarding marrying a sister (or niece or grandniece) in the days of Cain.

Abel did not take a wife, Cain killed him before that happened.

Cain did not take a wife until he was banished from the eyes of God and cursed for Abel's Murder. It was from the Tribes in the lands East of Nod that Cain found his wife, aand it was there because the with the mark of the curse, none of the Adam decendants would marry him.

Some will Claim that is was one of his sisters, however According to Scripture Adam and Eve did not have daughters until afew hundred years after the birth of there 3rd son, which was 120 years after Cain killed Abel, and started his own family, so the timeline doesn't Match.

Then if it was not his sister, because he didn't have any, and it wasn't Momma, because she was Evil, then it had to be someone from the tribe of Other People, not connected with YHVH's creation expirement......

Adam and Eve also had daughters-these were the wives of Cain and Abel. However, it was not considered to be incest at that time. It was a need to populate the world.

Old and poor observation. Read a little further in the Bible and you will find answers.

Incest was not illegal at the time, and the bloodline was pure enough to not have to worry about birth defects.

Cain and Seth would have married their sisters, cousins, etc.
(The Bible does not say that Abel ever took a wife.)

They took their sisters as wives. Even though Adams lineage mentions only his many sons, he and Eve had daughters as well. Mankind was so much closer to perfection back then that brothers and sisters were allowed to marry. It was not until after the law of Moses came into effect that the term incest was coined and therefore forbidden. Any better answers?

Right on Dude! I'll do the math - you do the reading. Gen. 2 never claims that Eden was the only place on earth w/ people. In point of fact, the ancient accounts which Gen. 2 used, such as the Gilgamesh Epic and other Ugaritic pieces.
What God created was humanity - Imago Dei - with the freedom to louse things u p royally. Seems we have proven the Bible rather correct on that point.

No one knows for sure. They could have been their sisters. They could have been "sisters in law" from their Sisters and the Sons of God.

No one really knows, but if Science is correct then there is the possiblity of inbreeding and incest there too, as no scientist can say for sure that thousands or millions "evolved" at the "same time."

But, with God and Religion you came from MAN, with Science, you can from "lower life forms"

YOu decide who your acestors are. MAN, descendent from God's Creaation or a lower form of life, an Amoeba, a Dog, A cat, An Ape, a Lizard.

What ARE YOU!
