Why do so called christians celebrate Easter when you look into the Bible it clearly states that Easter was before the time of Christ? Secondly if People celebrate Easter because the death, burial, and ressurection of Jesus Christ, why is it usually fall two weeks after the passover, when it tells us Jesus Crusifixition happened during the days of the passover?

Okay, forgot we're talking about humans here.

Since 1989, I worked with divorced/single fathers. 60+% of those seeking custody/visitation WILL BE accused of sexual abuse. It begins with CLAIMS of abuse, and progresses to sexual abuse in 2 years. Less than 5% are found to be true, but there are no laws against false allegations. Mothers even sexually abuse the child to back the allegations.

In 2 cases, a woman placed spoons in her daughter than took pictures for evidence in court. She was not charged for doing it because she was a DOCTOR and KNEW what she was doing. Locally, a month ago, a mother scratched her daughter between her legs than accused the father. He was living in a shelter with the girl. He was arrested, but released later when it was learned what the mother had done. He was not allowed back into shelters.

If it's so easy to make allegations against fathers, would it be any less so against a large organization that many churches fear? People will believe anything.

Where do they differ? They are both big on liturgy and tradition I know. What else do they share? I'm trying to decide which church fits me best and as a conservative Christian I know that both churches are faithful to Biblical teachings. What would most surprise a Lutheran about Greek Orthodoxy and visa versa?

Lets just go all out then,

Leviticus 20:9 "Any child that curses his mother or his father shall be put to death."

My son better not curse me, according to God it is ok to execute him. According to some of you I could use the bible as defense for murder as well as hatred, bigotry, and ignorance that is used to justify now.

Also, why do you ask irrelevant questions like " Why did God do this and that", or "why doesn't God...", or "well this part of the Bible don't make sense to me, (because I haven't read the whole chapter or book)?"... Listen let's make this simple; If (I say if to make you happy and hopefully follow this logic) God IS real, then he can do what he wants without explanation, whether you like it or not, right? I mean, there is someone powerful enough to make our universe, and he decided not to make everything simple and obvious and peachy, then isn't it better just to trust what he DOES tell you? *sigh, and yet, we are the ones using circular logic...I know this probably wont affect any of you, but I am just voicing my thought's and opinions, just like you guys do. God bless all...

After John Wycliffe translated the Bible into English the next person to do it was William Tyndale. He was only able to finish the New Testament and the first five books of the Old testament by 1530. By order of the priesthood Tyndale was burned at the stake for translating the Scriptures on Oct, 6, 1536.

Why didn't the priesthood want the the English speaking world to be able to read the Bible?

People in places like New York and California are very open minded when it comes to religion....but in the Southern cities are much more hostile to any doubting of their religion...people in the South claim to be patriots to the U.S but oppose anything that goes against their religious beliefs..I thought the U.S was the land of free speech!

I posted this question. I had never heard of this practice and just wanted to know. Look at the answers. I was not insulting anyone. Why is it that Christian are insulted all of the time here, but I can not ask a honest question about Islam or its culture without it being taken the wrong way?? Maybe the question itself is an insult because I have heard that you should never ask a person from the Middle East about their family, it is an invasion of their privacy or something. (Whereas in the U.S. it is considered polite to ask how your wife or mother is, etc.) If we can not ask questions, how will we ever learn about each others culture?

As far as I can reason, there must be a god. When pondering this question, you just get into a repeating pattern. Such as "if two meteors colliding created earth, who made the meteors?" etc. etc. Basically, in the end, there must have been one single creator.

However, I am not a fan of organized religion. It stuns me that so many follow it so intensely. Out of the infinite amount of religions that have been created, what makes people think that theirs is 'right'. How can you honestly believe completely in the bible when it so contradicts itself...how can god love everyone, yet send some to eternal torture in hell...

Now I am not looking for a lesson on the bible. I am simply wondering, in your opinion, what is god and why do/dont you believe in him/her/it?
