Personally I don't have a problem with the 'theory' of creationism being taught in the schools as long as the Bible could be dissected scientifically. In the end, I think the Bible would be exposed as a pack of lies - which would be a good thing.

I am a Christian. I am the only one in my family and I would really like to share with my parents and brothers. But God has never been the subject of any conversation within my house. Any ideas of a good way to share?

I have heard several people say that what would this life mean, if there was nothing after this one. I don't understand the logic behind that statement. Doesn't that mean that you think THIS life is meaningless but in the NEXT life, you will live forever in peace.

I think that takes meaning out of this life, because this is the only life we have. Nothing lives forever, from galaxies, stars planets and people. We are all born, live and die and that's it. Do galaxies and stars have an afterlife? I doubt it.

though the debate is moot, maybe some are interested in what the following resource has to say:

i'm only asking because the recent barrage of idiot statements along the lines of "i am not related to the apes" and such has taken over this section. maybe the creationist argument would be able to gain at least a little more backbone if it was actually educated on what it claimed, and kept up with what is actually continuing to be pieced together in evolution.

i am an atheist and i dont usually judge people by their religion, cus i believe that spirituality is in your gene so some people like the idea of believeing and others dont.

but some religions are just bad, parents are teaching the wrong ideas to their kids and its bothering me, like its not ok to the gay, its not ok to be an atheist, not ok to believe wt your bio teacher says. i dont like christianity, its not the worst, but since we hv so many christians here, im gonna say this. dont EVER ask me again, "ohh dear are you truly happy??" im sick and tired of
my religious friends thinking im pathetic and i find them annoyingly ignorant. atheists ARE the one who truly love life and live our life for its own sake, not for getting a reward.

so... i dont hv a question mark here.. any atheist think buddhist teachings are wise? buddhism is not like a religion cus they dont really worship a god. but i think the dalai lama is cool, " my religion is very simple. my religion is kindness"

Christians, do you get hurt when atheists say that ALL of you are judgemental, unintelligent, unreasonable, hypocrtical or intolerant?
Atheists, when Christians tell you that you are going to hell or assume you don't have a conscience or for other things?
People of Minority Religions, when people say you are strange or weird or look down on you because your faith is not common?
All people in general, when people bash eachother, insult each other, generalize about how all people of this faith or that faith are, and say things that are deliberately insulting.
Let's stop.

When it was clearly written by humans and those humans had a very limited knowledge of the world and universe around them. The one thing they did have was an imagination. So they invented god to fill in the gaps of what they didn't know.

So which knowledge would you have, information from 2 millenia ago or from today?

I've conducted a non-scientific, face value study in my city and adjoining military base after the sabotage of a paper from the county health office with regional birth statistcs and demographics and my own observation. The overwhelming majority of people (73%) with more than 3 kids were on welfare, food stamps and various other types of government assistance. Average income as less than $32,000 per year. Level of education: 42% of mothers or fathers were high school dropouts.

Then it seems the more educated have fewer kids, about 1.5 less actually was the mean (on average 1 or 2 kids). They made more money on average however, and the percentage on public assistance was about 19%.

I myself am sub-fertile, college educated, and together my husband and I make a nice combined yearly income. It seems per my general observation that many people in my area having babies are unable to care for them and are generally ghetto and ignorant.

Is God weeding us out?
