i am an atheist and i dont usually judge people by their religion, cus i believe that spirituality is in your gene so some people like the idea of believeing and others dont.
but some religions are just bad, parents are teaching the wrong ideas to their kids and its bothering me, like its not ok to the gay, its not ok to be an atheist, not ok to believe wt your bio teacher says. i dont like christianity, its not the worst, but since we hv so many christians here, im gonna say this. dont EVER ask me again, "ohh dear are you truly happy??" im sick and tired of
my religious friends thinking im pathetic and i find them annoyingly ignorant. atheists ARE the one who truly love life and live our life for its own sake, not for getting a reward.
so... i dont hv a question mark here.. any atheist think buddhist teachings are wise? buddhism is not like a religion cus they dont really worship a god. but i think the dalai lama is cool, " my religion is very simple. my religion is kindness"

I don't think right and wrong are appropriate. Everyone lives and during life makes choices - ethical, moral, and so on. If there is a pattern to these, it can be called their lifestyle. If they think about it, the lifestyle is a reflection of whatever faith they have. With the exception of Atheist, the religions you have listed have very similar ethical and moral values. I don't know about Atheism because everything I read from avowed Atheists is so negative about ethical and moral standards I am a Christian and follow the teachings and examples of Jesus Christ. I think that if everyone did this the world would be a much better place. But I would never denigrate Islam Buddhism or Hinduism.

It does seem like your belief tie along with the teaching of Buddhism. Is it cool? I don't know, but I do know that I choose to be a Buddhist. I do not like the idea of a bible as a manual for us to function either, follow this, believe in this or you will go to hell. But I'm not an atheist because I do not believe in the idea of us being born, die, then that's the end of our existence. Maybe that's true, but what's the point of it all if it's just simple as that. I do believe in a higher power that there are something else planned for us after we die. But I don't believe that we live our lives merely as that, to look forward to the reward or punishment after death.
Buddhism is more than just a religion, it's more like a philosophy to live by so it can't be explain in one paragraph or two. But if the reason you can't stand christianity is the fact that they look down on those who don't share the same belief, then I can assure you that Buddhism is not that at all. If you follow what Buddha teaches, you are to respect others, regardless of what they believe in, unless they're the one who believe in killing people for fun or something then I'm pretty sure it'll be an exception...

To each to ones own, right! This is YOUR existence. I know EXACTLY what you mean about how christianity looks down on people who are not christian. The funny thing is I met more f@#cked up christians then people who were not christian. Religion was thrown at me when I was a kid, but now that Im an adult, I feel that WE as people have to find our own truth. There is sooo much to discover, and not one religion or book holds it all. That is what I believe. To me many religions are used to basically control peoples behaviors and the world. What trips me out is these christian programs that come on at 3 o'clock in the morning asking for a CERTAIN amount of money. And they looked better dressed and done up than the average person. I can go on and on about this. Me personally I believe there is an energery out there, cause there is some stuff that is just unexplainable. But when it comes to religion..its man created. But that is my own personal belief.

I'm an atheist and I think buddhism is cool. It is the nicest religion that I've learned about and I don't know about anything harmful in it. It seems like a truly peaceful religion. I wish I could say the same about the monotheistic religions.

Basic Buddism is a philosophy, and I have studied it as such.
You would be in good company with Buddha. Buddha argued that if God was all-powerful, all-compassionate, and all-knowing, then why does evil exist? He decided that one of these things had to be rejected, and since he could see evil, God could not be one of the three "alls". In which case, God was not God and/or not worthy of worship. Buddha considered himself an atheist. His followers made a religion out of him.

We practive compassion (I'm a Tibetan Buddhist, My Guru is the Disciple of His Holiness Dalai Lama). Basically in Buddhism, we dont pray to gods, we dont pray for this and that, we love world peach, for those who have a hungry tummy, may they have delicious meals, for those who is thirsty, may they have delicious drinks.
There are also rituals that we preform, but we always wish to improve ourself to be able to help and benifits people.

Buddhism beats xtianity by a country mile, however it still has a problem with homosexuality. And the commoners are always praying to a Buddha who insisted he was no deity and not to worship him as such.

If you are heading toward the right path, you will get there eventually. Keep thinking and praying. Look at the beauty and complexity of nature.
Start with asking yourself if there is a God, and then ask him to show you the Truth. He will, in his own time. That is the wonder that is the Holy Spirit.
Bless you.
