What dose happen to them do they get a free ticket to heven for never knowing?.But how far would that be, to be sent to hell if they never had the chance to know?

This question is probably going to get pulled. But which way would you rather have society?Christians everywhere discussing their faith with you or some religion that would force you to give adherence to their beliefs. And wear clothes you don't like?

What has prompted me to begin reading the Bible and accepting Christ as a savior is the deep fear of hell. Is this wrong? Is this merely believing in hell, or is it a form of believing in Christ and God? If I have guilt, does that mean I must not be doing something right? I fear that Christ will say my love is derived from fear and that I am not a strong enough believer. The only book I have to read right now is the New Testament, but I will read it in hopes that my faith and love is strengthened. I hope Jesus can forgive for not having a strong enough faith. I will try to adhere to everything he asks.

(Isaiah 45:7, KJV) - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

(Amos 3:6) - "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?"

THIS IS A SCIENTIFIC FACT

I keep seeing people with like 6 thumbs downs for honest, legitimate answers to peoples' questions. Even if the answer is a complete fact, they will still get thumbs down! Why is it that people put others down, simply for stating the facts, or for stating their honest beliefs? (even if their statements were respectfully written out)
Do you think there are just really intolerant people on here, or are there just a few morons going through each question giving thumbs down to everyone?
And I understand that a "thumbs down" does not affect our scores, but its still quite disrespectful....
What are your thoughts?

I want to get an idea of how many monkey or fish creation books I can sell. If there are enough people out there who are believers, it might be worth my time to right a theory on how we started out, oh say 500 million years ago and WOW, look at where we are today! whats next, with our monkey brians we can do anything.

vote now please!

This is a fact: All life on this planet is made of the same four chemical elements. Oxygen, Nitrogen, Hydrogen and Carbon. Slime mold, bacteria, bugs, fish, dinosaurs, apes and humans are ALL made of the those same ingredients. Given the 4 BILLION years of evolution and natural selection, you get the beautiful diversity of the natural world. We may not look much like an oak tree but at it's basic level, we are exactly the same.

With all this evidence in front of everyone, why is it still hard to accept the truth of evolution. It is no longer a theory, it's a fact. It really happen. Here is something Carl Sagan said on evolution in his series COSMOS. He said...

“Our ancestors looked at the intricacy and beauty of life and saw evidence for a great designer. The simplest organism is a far more complex machine than the finest pocket watch. And yet pocket watches don’t spontaneously self assemble or evolve in slow stages on their own from say, grandfather clocks. A watch implies a watchmaker. There seemed to be no way, in which atoms spontaneously fall together and create say, a dandelion. The idea of a designer is an appealing and all together human explanation of the biological world. But as Darwin and Wallace showed, there is another way. Equally human and far more compelling.”

Some Christians say that they are against homosexuals because the Bible tells them so (Lev. 18:22, Romans 1:24, 26-27).

Some people calling themselves Christians have previously used the wording of the Bible to promote human slavery (Lev. 25:44-46, Colossians 3:22, Ephesians 6:5, I Peter 2:18-21); and some people calling themselves Christians have previously used the wording of the Bible to promote the inferiority of women (I Timothy 2:12-15, I Corinthians 11:3, I Corinthians 14:34-35, Ephesians 5:22-24).

Since it is no longer acceptable to say that the Bible promotes slavery or that the Bible says that women are inferior to men, why is it acceptable to say that the Bible condemns homosexuality?

FYI: Edited for length from Wikipedia article on "Scientific method."

Following the Scientific method, researchers propose specific hypotheses as explanations of natural phenomena, and design experimental studies that test these predictions for accuracy. These steps are repeated in order to make increasingly dependable predictions of future results. Theories that encompass wider domains of inquiry serve to bind more specific hypotheses together in a coherent structure.

The process must be objective so that the scientist does not bias the interpretation of the results or change the results outright. Complete documentation of data and methodology are made available for careful scrutiny by other scientists and researchers, thereby allowing other researchers the opportunity to verify results by attempted reproduction of them. This also allows statistical measures of the reliability of the results to be established.

"Religion is based, I think, primarily and mainly upon fear. It is partly the terror of the unknown and partly, as I have said, the wish to feel that you have a kind of elder brother who will stand by you in all your troubles and disputes....A good world needs knowledge, kindliness, and courage; it does not need a regretful hankering after the past or a fettering of the free intelligence by the words uttered long ago by ignorant men."

It sums up my thinking perfectly...and please....no quotes from the bible!
