Even when we want to be good, honest, strong, loving and courageous, we're constantly tempted not to be. This is true of everyone. Talk honestly with the most virtuous person you know and they'll tell you that they experience temptation. For some it's hypocrisy, for others something else.

I think that's evidence of original sin and that evil has an intelligence of some sort, which some people call the devil.

We are born sinners. We will die sinners, but if you are covered in the blood of Jesus your sins are forgiven. The thing is, are you continuously trying to improve and become like Christ? Or do you just want fire insurance? I was religiously lost for 19 years before I got saved a year ago, and am still struggling to a degree. I especially realized that I have been more of a hypocrite than I knew before, but God is working through me and is changing me every day for the better. This is why I am online when I am home, witnessing to others and trying to share what God has done for me.

I am a Christian and I am saddened that so many people claim to be Christian and then do not live it. People looking at the church from the outside have every reason to say "hyprocrites"...

If more people lived like Jesus, which mean they would model love and temperence, then the church would be a place that everyone loved to be. Instead many have used the bible to support a chosen agenda. The church has become a battle ground for political stances. None of this was what Jesus modeled or intended.

Good question. It is so frustrating. The Christians I met before I met Jesus kept me away from Him. Go to church and stop by the package store on the way home... all prissy, self-righteous, gossiping... not exactly what Jesus intended. In times of trial, I ask myself, "what would love do next?" and then do it. I've been doing that since I met Him and it's becoming my nature- much easier than it was when I began. Hypocrisy has been around since we got kicked out of Eden. The best we can do is the best we can do. No judging of others, no condemnation; only love and acceptance. God bless.

As humans, it's in our nature to do so. It's a matter of pride and trying to be perfect in other people's eyes. We want to be accepted, even if it means we have to be hypocrites.

Because we are people. We have all fallen short of the glory of the Lord. I'm not saying that its right. God sees our heart and it is our duty to to work out our on salvation with fear and trembling as it is said so in the Bible.

If we start, God will complete it. Praise be to God.

Because people aren't perfect, no one is. That's why we all sin, he tells us not to do alot of things but alot of times we don't do the right thing, its human nature to do that.
