In Bible Numerology certain numbers have meaning e.g. 1=unity, 2=division.. well number 6=man 66=man in sin 666=man completely overtaken by Satan. The Anti Christ is a man Satan will use to achieve his goals. He has tried before. Some theologians believe Alexander the Great was one. The man dies but the spirit moves on and finds someone else. There has always been some tyrant on the planet that it could be attributed to.

It is a mans number. The number seven stands for perfection. 6 falls short of perfection. 6 three times, 666, emphasizes how far it falls short of perfection.

Most people think it was Caesar Neron (Nero). John wrote the book of Revelation while exiled on the isle of Patmos, off the coast of Asia Minor. All of his letters were screened, so he had to be careful. His letter refers to the Emperor Domition, who John compared to Nero - he was saying that Domition was a new Nero.

There are other theories, of course, but this one seems to make the most sense to me.

I almost forgot - the Bible does not tell us that 'we' should be able to figure it out. The book of Revelation was addressed to the seven Churches in Asia Minor - it was they who should have been able to figure it out, not us. And ancient sources seem to confirm that the Churches in Asia knew exactly what it meant, but they did not hand that knowledge down to successive generations.

Its a Religious organisation and the hat of this leader has roman numerals on it...don't want to say what one it is, but you can figure it out if you study it. The roman numerals add up to 666 on the hat.
