(Isaiah 45:7, KJV) - "I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things."

(Amos 3:6) - "Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?"

I was just wondering, I noticed a lot of Christians deny that God created evil.

Exactly. God is ALL-that-is. "Good" and "evil" are just judgements of the ego/mind. How can one judge God?

This has to be taken into context. What it means is that no matter what the god of the Israelites did to bring them back to worshiping him they still would not listen.

If you tell your son/daughter not to do something, they will do more. And the more you tell them not to, the more they do it. Are you, the parent, creating their wrongdoing?

He brings light but creates darkness meaning they don't get it; in a sense they are in the dark and he just finished revealing the light. It was as if the more light he shed (spiritual truth) the more darkness (evil, wrongdoing) they committed. This is why it seems as if he created it but he didn't literally create it, it is a figure of speech.

The trumpet blows as a warning and people worsen & don't listen...just more evil but didn't the "lord give warning?"

Based on the above, god did not create evil.

Also, consider destructive forces come from hurricanes, tornados, volcanos, earthquakes all which are created by god's laws of nature. God did not create the hurricane but the forces and elements he created joined in the right conditions and formed.
Likewise, God did not create evil but he did create spirits and individuals that choose to be evil.

Praying for the elimination of evil and the root of it, in my opinion, is fine as long as it's god's will.

Darkness is not necessarily evil. This could be a writing, grammar, syntax or translation abberation.

God didn't create sin and evil, MAN did it.

God has created severe punishments, floods, fires, etc. There is the wrath of God. But, is it EVIL to irradicate EVIL when you are God.

God did create it all, but he never intended to create wrong or sin or evil. Man's mind created that.

God was aware of it, but obviously God had it far more in control than Man did.

I keep telling everyone WE are going to face this same problem.

Science WANTS desperately to CREATE a species and in as little as 500 years WILL do so.

What will we do, if that SPEICES puts itself above us and tries to dominate us. What will WE do if that new creation tries to kill US off or kill off the Earth.

Will we do genocide. Do we have a right to. We create, can we end for "good" reason when the creation is "evil."

These are RELATIVE terms, but as the Supreme court say about pornography I can say, I KNOW EVIL when I see it.

Wrong.
God’s enemies will use scripture as Satan did to tempt Christ.
They will misquote, twist or askew the truth for their agenda.
For example, Isaiah 45:7 to say God created evil.

Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

A deeper study will always manifest truth.

(create) “bara” in the Hebrew.
The Hebrew Poel Participle of the verb “bara” which, with “evil”, requires the rendering “bring about”.

(evil) “ra, raah” in the Hebrew, is never rendered “sin”.
God brings calamity about as the inevitable consequence of sin.
It is rendered “calamity”.

God brings about calamity because of sin.

Whenever there are so-called contradictions of God’s Word, a deeper study is always required.
This requires time and effort of the individual to delve into the truth of God’s Word.
Also, use your brain and think about it.
God cannot create true love.
True love will only manifest in a being of freewill.
In like manner God cannot create evil or righteousness, but will only manifest in beings of freewill.

Ahhhh-another wiseguy. Asking another pesky question .
Good for you! I distrust '' religious'' person that becomes a
biblical know-it -all without pondering the meaning for themselves.
Keep asking and ye SHALL receive -yes Christ will come to you
if you truly want to know. The faux Christians are happy to
delude themselves and others with their dead testimony .
Yes -HOW could it be otherwise but that GOD ( provided the
biblical tales are factual) is NOT responsible for all of the
relative good and bad that occurs? Satan was his trusted
heavenly officer , his left hand man until he rebelled.
How could GOD have made such a mistake? He obviously
was in on it because it had to be , as part of the cosmic passion
play that we're all in. Jesus knew that Judas would betray him-
Judas had to or else he could not complete Jesus's mission So ,
should we hate Judas? I think not - I believe he was forgiven and
is with Jesus
How could any Christian have persecuted the Jews?
Are we not admonished to '' turn the other cheek''?
Are we not to forgive our oppressors and pray for sinners?
We're not here to enforce gods laws on others, we're here to see the truth of good and evil. We;re here to give forgiveness
and provide compassion to all that all suffering in any way.
To try to eliminate evil , is to misunderstand who you are -
WHO do you think is hung on the cross , sacrificing themselves
for all , asking for god to forgive their persecutors? YOU!
Are you willing to be as brave as the Christ ?
When you can forgive the very demons of hell and their master
and ask that they receive heavens blessing , THEN
you may call yourself a Christian .
What did Jesus ask his heavenly father on the cross to do after
being betrayed , beaten , scourged and crucified unjustly?

Yes, technically. But you shouldn't be praying to God to eliminate evil, just to help you avoid temptation. You'll notice that the phrase is "deliver us from evil." It's probably used instead of "eliminate all evil" because of what you pointed out.

The "Devil" was created by the clergy as a scapegoat for anything they didn't want their God to take the blame for. More generally the whole God-Devil thing was designed to be an allegory to compete with the popular iconic gods of the day.

It's all nonsense, of course.

I once knew a diabetic who prayed that drugs be done away with in a circle prayer. I had to point out to him that he would be dead if such an event occured. I know God has a sense of humor even if many of his followers do not.

Isa 45:9 ¶ Woe unto him that striveth with his Maker! [Let] the potsherd [strive] with the potsherds of the earth. Shall the clay say to him that fashioneth it, What makest thou? or thy work, He hath no hands?

No he created evil as a test for man. He didn't mean to keep it but the first men embraced evil so he is forced to keep it.
