why cant we see unto the true face of god?

in the 10 commandment,

just as there are so many things incompehensible to the human mind, (for ex., infinity, the endless stars, the realization of 'self'),
It is not really possible for us to 'see the face of God'. this inability is attributed to --' the sinfulness of man'--. For sure, if we are focused on such things as..... finding the next high, making a bundle of money real quick, or getting our next piece,.... we are not on the same wavelength as God but are more attuned to animals(following our desires and urges).

To be more attuned to God we must see ourselves as overcoming earthly desires and focusing on always doing what is right, doing what God would have us do. God wants us to seperate us from our earthly desires and focus on being only a spiritual being as we will soon be after our bodies die. Think like God and you might be able to see his face some day.

God is Holy. As we have all fallen short of the glory of God, we cannot see Him. Moses saw God and so did Abraham, but why them? Its because they went a step further in the service of God.

Moses humbled himself to do all that God commanded and Abraham loved God enough to agree to give up the only child he had.

Do you know that if you develop such a relationship with God, u can see Him. To this day, God talks to people. Its not only to the olden day prophets. Its all about relationship. Get to know Him and develop a close relationship and you will see the face of God.

Like some have mentioned previously. God is a Spirit. That means without flesh or bone. Most importantly we couldn't even behold the imagin of God in His holiness and righteousness. In the old testament when a image of God did make His presence in the sight of a couple of men. They either turned in fear or could not handle the awesomeness of His Holiness.

If you saw the movie "Oh God" there is a scene that answers your question. In the scene John Denver's character asks George Burns (God) "Is this what you look like?" Gods reply is "No you wouldnt understand what I look like so I took a form you would understand"

You can. Most non believers say tey dont believe in God because we cant see him. I ask them well you can't see the wind do you believe in it? They say well I've seen the effects of it like blown trees or leaves. Well my response to that is I've seen the effect of God on people. If you Jesus Christ in your heart and believe in Him then you will go to heaven and if you believe with all your heart THEN you have the true face of God. You don't have to go to church you don't have to go preaching to everybody. All you need is to have Him in your heart and live a Christ-like life. This is one of the beautitudes. It means that if we were pure of heart, not desiring sin, we would be one of the blessed ones and see God. We do see Him in small ways, but oh the glory, the peace, if we could see Him face to face. What an awesome thing to strive for.
