And what did you do to get over it

My friend and I stopped at a gas station one day, and she waited in the car while I went in to pay. I had just handed my money to the clerk, when these guys started running out from everywhere, it seemed, yelling and screaming "Get down!" and pointing their guns at the guys in the car on the other side of the pump. They were undercover police, and were after the two men for whatever reason, but it scared the heck out of me and my friend because we had no clue as to what was going on, and the gas station was in a fairly remote area. I just thank God that we didn't have our kids with us (we were heading to the gym) or we probably would both have had a nervous breakdown. We hurried and left, because we didn't want to be there in case anything else happened, but we were so shaky, that we had to pull over farther on down the road, because neither of us could drive! Once we had a chance to calm down, we got over it okay, but I guarantee you that you'll never catch either one of us at that gas station again!

The scariest thing I have ever encountered is waking up in the middle of a nightmare and not realizing I was more asleep than awake and believing that the nightmare was real.
I dreamed that I had murdered someone and buried them in my backyard. I was devastated with guilt and unable to understand how, why, when or where I had done this terrible thing.
I was experiencing the heaviest level of guilt that I ever felt and heavier than anything I ever thought I would feel. It was horrible.
Then I started actually waking up. I suddenly remembered that I did not remember really killing anyone, and then I realized to my great relief that I had not murdered anyone and buried them in my backyard. Thank God!!

As a child, I had a recurring nightmare. I would wake up sitting upright in my bed, screaming bloody murder. My mom and other family members are crowded around me trying to convince me (and themselves) that I just had a nightmare. Mom would get me a drink of water. I'd settle down eventually. When asked, I could not, and still cannot give a single detail about the dream or what it was even about.

I would never remember much at all... until the next time the dream happened and the whole drama played out anew.

I used to pray I wouldn't dream before going to bed.

The scariest thing ever was when I was practicing wicca. One night I had a dream that felt so real. It was demons surrounding me and laughing horribly. They looked like very tall dark shadows. It seemed as though I was half awake and half asleep, and when I tried to move I couldn't. I felt paralyzed. I finally woke up, but was afraid to sleep after that.
Shortly after this, after talking to family and friends, I burned all the wicca books and walked away from it and I got saved. There was more to the story than this, but after I prayed to God and accepted Jesus into my life and as my Savior, I never had those terrible nightmares again. To this day I still wonder, were they really nightmares or did satan send demons to haunt me?

My 16 yr. old daughter came home from a party and could not walk, talk, and her eyes were rolling up in her head, first problem we had ever had, I was scared to death...
She was with a friend and I asked her friend what she had done and she lied, we took her to the hospital and found out she had done some bad drugs, it was soooooo scarey...I thought we might lose her...
Good news is she learned her lesson, is 21 now and has never touched drugs since, thank god.
I will never get over it, never. I worry about her every day (she is in college) I know she knows better and would never do that again but it just has never left me. I am the cheapest, poorest person I know but just bought her a car w/ 6 air bags...!!!!!!

While hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, we ran into a BEAR. We had to softly, quietly, slowly, reverse ourselves, and return the way we came. We went to the Rangers cabin and chatted with him. A couple of nights later, a BEAR came into our camp while we slept in our tent. The BEAR ransacked the gear looking for food. We kept very still. The BEAR went away. We left the next morning. Never been back.

I went to this cemetery that was in Time magazine as a gateway to hell. Me and my friend saw 2 hooded figures coming after us. We ran away and never look back. We brought a tape recorder with us and we listened to it, on it was a voice that said if you come back here, we will kill you. I had nightmares for weeks. It was the scariest thing that ever happened to me, and weird dreams of demons coming into my room at night. I will never go back there for thrill seeking, maybe an amusement park next time instead!

It was the middle of the night in Arizona, and I saw some sort of animal, looked like a boar, and its eyes were glowing blue. Its eyes were glowing so bright (almost like looking into a flashlight) that I couldnt really see it to tell what it was. It ran away before I got a good look.

I was sitting in a restaurant one Sunday morning and this huge pack of baptists came in for brunch after services. They were totally rude to the wait staff, and their kids were out of control, and I never have gotten over it. Now I eat at home on Sundays.

Hearing on the radio that a plane hit the World Trade center then hearing another hit the Pentagon. Realizing we are under attack on home soil.

I will always be afraid. My safe world is gone.
