I think studying the Bible in school will have a great effect on our children, and eventually, society at large. Our society, morally and politically were established on Christian principles, and we need to get back to them.

I am all for students being able to study the Bible in public schools. I graduated in the 90s, and therefore I don't know what public school Bible study was in the past, but it should not be taught in a theological way, as doctrine, or in a biased way. I think it would have a good effect, particularly in English/literature classes since having knowledge of the Bible is important to understanding and reading literature. It is most definitely relevant to our time. And yes, I do study the Bible, but I am an adult, not a student. I do not understand why is it okay for things such as "tribal drumming" to be taught in public schools, but the Bible is controversial!?

No. I think Biblical teaching should be left to the parents and the respective church or synagogue. Since there are so many different religions today, it does not bode well for the Bible to be taught in public schools. However, I don't agree with the current refusal to mention God in schools or public venues such as court houses. Everyone who isn't an atheist believes in God, and worships Him in different ways. We have a tendency in our society to veer too far to the right and left. And yes, I study the Bible on my own time, and in a Bible class. But let's focus education on the three R's, and religion in the home and/or place of worship, where it is more appropriate.

Stop and think about this for a moment. If You teach about the Bible then are You not also morally, ethically and legally obliged the teach about all religious works? Pick a choice:
1) Do Your school work at school and then go home, or,
2) Never learn anything else other than about religion?
Religion is a matter of choice, just like any other freedom.

Yes, I think it's a good idea. Christian children are forced to learn evolution when that goes against what they believe. Teaching the Bible might just do the school systems some good.

The BIBLE has not been taught in the school systems for many, many years. It would certainly not hurt anything. Whether it would have a positive effect is probably not going to be seen in our society. I study the HOLY BIBLE daily and attend Bible Study twice a week. My family and I attend Church services three times per week. I hope that there are others of you reading and studying the BIBLE so that you too are ready to meet Jesus upon HIS return at Judgment. Have a wonderful evening!

I think that's a horrible idea. Not everyone is a Christian!! I believe it would have a tremendously bad effect on children. It's not relevant in our times and has no place in schools. If you allow the bible to be taught in schools don't forget you'll have to have something from every other religion out there taught in schools as well. "Separation of Church and State" ring a bell!
Freedom of religion means Freedom for ALL religions!

Only as long as the Qur'an, the Zend-Avestas, the Rig Veda, the Tao-Teh-Ching, the Analects, and the Dhammapada are alongside.
By the way, you will first need to amend the US Constitution to teach religion in the classrooms. US Supreme Court says religion in historical or literary contexts are fine, but religious indoctrination violates the First Amendment.
It would have a bad effect (it would result in a return to the 1960s protests - want to see pickets signs as schools, lawsuits, etc.).
Relevant? I believe Jesus was a moral teacher, but each must find their own path.
Yes, my major was religion in college and I still study religion.

No!!religion is the root of all evil I was forced to catholic school as a child now I despise ALL religions I do believe in God but God and I are on our own terms and we talk all the time without having to go to church or look into any bibles although do sometimes read it for a reference of opinions and insightful stories but that aside religion shouldn't be forced!!
