Jehovah of the OT is the same God of the NT and today and forever.
Jesus is the same today, yesterday and tomorrow.
Jesus said He can only do what He sees His Father do.
And unless you are reading without comprehension or the proper revelation, Jehovah in the OT is full of mercy and loving kindness.
Shalom.

They act differently.
Jesus taught love and compassion. Jehovah taught hatred and fear.
I don't see the mighty pillar of fire settling down and telling a touching tale of the Good Samaritan.
Likewise, I don't see Jesus tearing apart children for teasing a bald man or flooding the world.
Some have compared Jesus to a translator. He conveys the message of an angry, petty god in words that don't terrify mortals.

Jehovah is an English adaptation of the Hebrew YHWH which was not spoken out of reference. Jesus which is identical to Joshua and derives from YVWH. Same God, different eras and languages.

Jehovah's Witnesses love and respect and honor Christ. However, Jehovah's Witnesses believe that the Scriptures quite plainly demonstrate that Jesus and the Almighty are separate distinct persons, and the Almighty created Jesus as His firstborn son.
(Colossians 1:15) the firstborn of all creation
(Mark 10:18) Jesus said to him: 'Why do you call me good? Nobody is good, except one, God.
(Revelation 3:14) the Amen says, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation by God
(Philippians 2:5-6) Christ Jesus, who, although he was existing in God's form, gave no consideration to a seizure, namely, that he should be equal to God
(John 8:42) Neither have I come of my own initiative at all, but that One sent me forth
(John 12:49) I have not spoken out of my own impulse, but the Father himself who sent me has given me a commandment as to what to tell and what to speak
(John 14:28) I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am
(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him
(Matthew 20:23) this sitting down at my right hand and at my left is not mine to give, but it belongs to those for whom it has been prepared by my Father
(1 Corinthians 11:3) I want you to know that the head of every man is the Christ; ...in turn the head of the Christ is God
(John 20:17) I am ascending to my Father and your Father and to my God and your God.
(Deuteronomy 6:4) Jehovah our God is one Jehovah
(1 Corinthians 8:4-6) There is no God but one. For even though there are those who are called "gods," whether in heaven or on earth, just as there are many "gods" and many "lords," there is actually to us one God the Father, out of whom all things are, and we for him
Thanks again for an opportunity to share what the bible actually says about the distinct persons of Jesus Christ the Son and Jehovah God the Father!

No they are separate persons but yet one and the same God. It's like how a book has a length, width, and height but is still one book. It's the same with God the Father, God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Ghost.

No. One is the Father, the other is the son.
Jesus in the Old Testament is Michael the Archangel. (Duh!)
He was THE Archangel Michael (there is only one Archangel in the Holy Bible (Jude 9), and it is Michael). Read "Wisdom Personified" (Proverbs 8:22-36) in Psalms, it’s Michael (pre-existence of Jesus talking) about his creation by God and how everything was then created by him.
At 1 Thessalonians 4:16 it states here he has "the Archangels voice" when it says "16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first; (Mat. 24:30; 1 Cor. 15:52; 15: 23). Since Christ is NOW IN HEAVEN the King of All except God, it would be a "lowering or a downgrade of his position to call him THE Archangel, unless he ALREADY WAS."
Also, other correspondences establishing that Michael is actually the Son of God are listed. Daniel, after marking the first reference to Michael (Dan. 10:13), recorded a long-range prophecy reaching down to "the time of the end" (Daniel 11:40), and then stated: "And during that TIME MICHAEL WILL STAND UP (Dan. 12:1), that is will take up power or begin to reign as king. (Compare Daniel 8:22, 23; 11:2, 3, 7, 20, 21.) This implies that a period of being seated preceded his standing up as king. In agreement there with Hebrews 10:12, 13 says regarding Christ Jesus: "This man offered one sacrifice for sins perpetually and sat down at the right hand of God, from then on awaiting until his enemies should be placed as a stool for his feet." Michael's stand up was to lead to a "time of distress such as has not been made to occur since there came to be a nation until that time." (Dan. 12:1).
The Book of Revelation (12:7, 10, 12) mentions Michael in connection with the establishment of God's kingdom and links the event with trouble for the earth: "And war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels battled with the dragon, and the dragon and its angels battled. And I heard a loud voice in heaven say: 'Now have come to pass the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ, because the accuser of our brothers has been hurled down . . . On this account be glad, you heavens and you who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea.' “Jesus Christ is later depicted as leading the heavenly armies in war against the nations of the earth. (Rev. 19:11-16) This would mean a period of distress for them which is to follow Michael's standing up. (Dan. 12:1)
In his prehuman existence Jesus was called "the Word." (John 1:1) He also had the personal name Michael. By retaining the name Jesus after his resurrection (Acts 9:5), the "Word" shows that he is identical with the Son of God on earth. His resuming his heavenly name Michael and his title (or, name) "The Word of God" (Rev. 1(:13) ties him with his prehuman existence. The very name Michael, MEANING as it does "Who is like God?," points to the fact that God is WITHOUT LIKE or EQUAL and Michael as his archangel is his greatest Champion or Vindicator, never trying to equal himself to his Father and Creator.
There's more, but you get the idea.

That's why i like using a Bible that uses the name Jehovah. It helps differentiate between Him and Jesus. Compare Psalms 110; 1 to Acts 2; 34,35
Psalm 110
The LORD Gives Dominion to the King.
A Psalm of David.
1(A)The LORD says to my Lord:
"(B)Sit at My right hand
Until I make (C)Your enemies a footstool for Your feet."
Acts 2 34"For it was not David who ascended into heaven, but he himself says:
'(AT)THE LORD SAID TO MY LORD,
"SIT AT MY RIGHT HAND,
35UNTIL I MAKE YOUR ENEMIES A FOOTSTOOL FOR YOUR FEET."'

No, they are not the same person.
Psalm 110 (Young's Literal Translation)
1 A Psalm of David. The affirmation of Jehovah to my Lord: `Sit at My right hand, Till I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Psalm 110 (American Standard Version)
American Standard Version (ASV)
A Psalm of David.
1Jehovah saith unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, Until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
Jehovah said to Jesus, Sit at my right hand.
(NASB)
Rev 3: 12'He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he will not go out from it anymore; and I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God,
Faithful Christians will receive the honor of worshippig the God of Jesus, by using his name, Jehovah.
Jesus is the way to Jehovah.
Jesus taught us to worship the only true God.
