Also, is your marriage cheapened when the state-issued gay marriage certificate is signed by the couple, or the county clerk?

AdamKadmon -- actually, there, man... a county clerk... is a state official. They used to be appointed by the governor, until the progressive movement.

My next door neighbors are lesbians.

If they got married, big whoop. That doesn't really change anything that's happening here at this house, does it?

Nope. I've still got a husband, and I'm still doing the darn dishes. Nothing changes. So, I'm not buying this threat to traditional marriage thing.

Now, if the church a block over refuses to recognize their State-approved marriage, that's the church's business, the laws are not.

Well, you asked the question but do you 'really' want our answers!
It isn't only the Christian faith that detests such a marriage.
Buddist, Christians, Islam and every other doctrinal faith would tell you "NO"!!!
Homosexuality is 'not' accepted by 'any' practicing 'God believing'
religion.
On the contrary, a marriage of 'same sex' is considered an
abomination (VERY bad) to all God believers.
There is 'nothing' sacred about 'gay' marriages.
Mainstream society 'unbelieving people' always determine their
rights by their 'own' beliefs and NOT by any spiritual source.
Sad but true!!

It has very little to do with how I feel about my union with my wife. Its all about the tradition, the foundation, of what a family is.

You (general society) deny God. You mock Christ. You scoff at the Bible and the commandments contained therein. You call it rubbish. Insignificant. Backwards. Unscientific. You mock those who believe in it, practice it, and live it daily.

Marriage as it is understood in the Bible is one more item on the agenda for mockery.

Which is the funniest irony of it all. You hate us, you mock us, you hound us at every corner and then at the heart of your argument you actually want to BE like us by getting married they way we do. By having your marriage rituals mimic ours, having it in the hallowed halls of a church, and then trying to get it sanctioned by a minister of God.

Its almost like you want God's approval.

I didn't think you acknowledged Him at all??? VERY ironic...

LOL, what a stupid question. A marriage is a marriage. Their all the same. And since the STATE HAS TO ISSUE THE LICENSE EINSTEIN, it has to be signed by a state official! Its not rocket science.

"For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who withhold the truth in unrighteousness.... because when they knew God they glorified Him not as God,.... Professing themselves to wise, they became fools, ..... Wherefore God gave them up to uncleaness...to dishonor their bodies among themselves...Who exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worship and served the creature more than the Creator... FOR THIS CAUSE God gave them up to vile affections....and likewise the men also, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men with men,... receiving in themselves THE JUST RECOMPENSE FOR THEIR ERROR,... God gave then over to a reprobate mind,.... filled with all unrighteousness, ...full of envy, murder, deceit,....haters of God,...proud,...without understanding,...who, KNOWING THE JUDGMENT OF GOD, that they which commit such things ARE WORTHY OF (ETERNAL) DEATH..."
