We don't know what happened before the big bang or how the universe will end but if we assume that the universe is continuously and infinitely expanding and collapsing with different configurations then what we see today is the result of inevitability not chance. Why do the religious insist that science suggests life exists through chance? is it their need to obfuscate science in order to protect their unscientific view of existence?

ID, for instance, is not science, because it fails to meet basic scientific criteria for a theory, yet it is masqueraded as science by its proponents (who are not scientists but religious zealots).

Are we destined to return to the dark ages of witch trials and burning of heretics?

I've been raised as a Baptist, and lately I've been wondering what it is that defines me as a "Baptist." I started looking through many different versions of the bible and talking to people associated with different denominations, but I can't figure out why exactly there are so many different "brands" of Christianity. I realize that most denominations all have the same, overarching goal in mind but everyone seems to be going about it their own way. The Bible is supposed to be God's word as written by man, but there are over 200 versions of it! Who's right? What's the best way to strive for God's grace? I've resigned to searching for the right way within myself, but I haven't made any real progress on where to go with religion. Any insight on this would be greatly appreciated.

Why is it so easy to assume that one obnoxious atheist represents all atheists, or one pushy Christian represents all Christians? We keep asking questions like "Why are the Christians here doing such and such," when it's not all the Christians (same with the Atheists, the Unbelievers, etc.) Wouldn't we be far more accurate and avoid some fights if we said "Why do *some* Christians...?" or "Why do *some* atheists...?" Or is it that too many people here *want* to fight?

All of your answers were no help. "jesus" was killed therefore he was buried. Unless he was burned or drowned or something. If everyone believes in jesus like they believe christmas is on december 25th then there should be a great answer as to where his body lays, or dangles, or sits or whatever. where is this guy? and no silly fictional stories.

I hate hearing about all kinds of religions and how they are all right, and all the stupid people who hate you for not believing in their religion. It seems that not one can be completely accurate. Does anyone have a good explanation?

If Jesus died for all the Christian's sins, can Christians then sin all they want?

Christians!

Don't you know your savior is false? The only true savior is Satan! The great Sammael! Worship him, then, and only then can you have eternal life!

God is dead, be saved by Satan's mercy! Do not be left behind! Before the apocalypse Satan will take his faithful before he fixes all the problems in the world and makes it perfect!

He will then kill his arch nemesis, Jesus Christ for causing pain to all human beings.

Repent now, or you will be damned to oblivion!

Please will you accept Satan into your heart today?

Geneis 3:4
Did Adam fall for that one?
And do church people today fall for that one -- and a few hundred other preposterous stories?

What goes on in the minds of church people? Is this maybe one big joke; and behind it all they are actually intelligent normal people?

I realize that I am going to sound like a complete nutjob but here is the situation. Christmas Eve this mysterious cat showed up. It somehow got stuck in my attic so I got her down. Since then this cat seems to have a "thing" for me. What I mean is that the cat won't leave me alone. It is as if the cat is patrolling my house. It goes from the back door to the front door then to the window next to my bed climbing on the screen. Then to the window with the ac unit in it. She jumps up on the ac and literally knocks on my window with her paws. Then the cat sits on the hood of my truck until she decides to start the routine all over again. After several times doing this then she goes back into the attic and sits on the fan over my bedroom and cries. I find this very strange. I have a feeling that the cat is here for a reason, crazy as that may sound. I am pregnant could this be the reason for my 'visitor'? Anyways I guess my question is what do you think? Serious answers pls

You can't apply the laws of nature to a supernatural God. God makes those laws, He can change them anytime He wants, or needs, to.

If god created the universe from nothing... then something can come from nothing.

If the material always existed within god, then the material for the universe always existed and there is no need for a god.

Joshua 10:13 The sun stood still for about a day.
Do church people believe this?
Or maybe it meant to say that Joshua wished the sun would stand still, or maybe he imagined that it was standing still, or everything happened so fast it might as well have stood still, or what?
Is this preposterous or what?
How exactly do church people explain things like this?

Who's to say that the bible isn't just fictional stories that were made up to exaggerate the life people lived back then? I personally don't feel that the bible is something to live your lives after.
