You can't apply the laws of nature to a supernatural God. God makes those laws, He can change them anytime He wants, or needs, to.

Rev Kev,
Because He has the believer's best interest in mind.
I can get you the scripture that says this, if you want.
And yes, Godzilla, I realize that as an atheist, you have no way to combat this statement; and I'm sorry. I'm sorry that the truth puts you in a position of being unable to respond, but it is the truth as I see it.

Well, thedude, it is perfectly fine for you to turn the tables. See, that is why it's kind of impossible for us to agree. My opinion is that God's law supercedes all law. YOu don't believe there is a God, only nature. We will have to differ on this point.
Do you believe that everything is just helter-skelter, or has some order? Is so, where does that order come from?

For the record, I used to be an atheist. I had an intervention by God that proved His existence to me. I know where you all are coming from. I just have the proof I need.

I do not believe that Nature's Laws are the maker of the laws of nature.
A Higher Power created the all and the everything...including the laws of nature and they are unchangeable. Sometimes they are referred to as the "universal laws". These things are not altered on a whim by they original creator.
For example....if we (the human race)...decide to destroy our planet as a result of our global consciousness....then so it shall be. Humans were given freewill, and it would be best that we use it as a group to prevent further destruction to our own environment.
I'm a Deist.....and that's my opinion.

Because the church was unable to brainwash us. You see, you don't understand what having an open mind feels like. You have been brainwashed by the church and your mind will not open up no matter what. All you can say is that god did it. You need to be re-educated so that you can think for yourself.
We are able to think outside of the box, the box being the ideas of the church. We look for answers because we have the technology to prove so much about your religion wrong in the near future.
Okay...rant over.

You deny fact flat out.
You are faced with an absolute contradiction. If these rules apply to all existence, how is your god immune? It makes no sense.
You ran into a dead end, and instead of accepting that you were wrong, you put your fingers in your ears and sang out...
"LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR YOU...
...BECAUSE GOD MADE IT THAT WAY, BECAUSE GOD MADE IT THAT WAY!!!"
I can't even imagine the amount of logical disjunct necessary for you to make that statement.

So why trust God? If he just changes things around, then we can't rely on him for consistency.
The Bible is full of such inconsistencies. He loves us, yet he condemns us to Hell just because we cannot see him. He is just, yet he allows Job to unfairly suffer. He is powerful, yet he is surprised when Satan appears out of the blue.
And who's to say the Christian or Muslim god is the god that made those laws? I've seen proof that the Flying Spaghetti Monster changes the natural laws just to thwart us. Okay, technically, it's not proof, but it's as valid as any other theology I've seen.

We're not saying God has to have mass. We're saying that God has to be limited by the rules of logic; ergo, he cannot create a stone so great that he himself cannot lift it and be omnipotent. Stuff like that. You can say "well god isn't limited by logic" but then you can't reasonably argue about it. Which means that logicians don't really have anything to talk to you about and can literally say you're being "unreasonable."

That's just it. God is "outside science"... so He's outside logic... therefore impossible.
If He existed... and was omnipotent as you claim, then He could have raping, murdering, etc. be GOOD. And since He's "perfect", you'd have to do those things to be moral.
Any sane person should not follow such an impossible and unpredictable being.

I do not understand your question. Do you mean why do people say God cant do something because it is impossible? Because he said he would not prove his existence in the bible. That totally would take away from the facade.

I think you have it backward. Christian fundamentalists ascribe human qualities to their God.
And I know what you mean about God changing laws anytime he wants. I found myself walking on the ceiling this morning and couldn't figure out why. I hate when he does that.

There really is no point talking to someone when they're on crack... I'll just leave you alone for a few hours. Ask something more intelligible next time when you're not high on self-righteousness and drugs.
