The Bible is a book containing about 6000 years of history; there's no brief explanation of it's content.
This Book of Books reveals the past, explains the present, and foretells the future. These are matters that only He who knows the end from the beginning could author. With the account of why men die, the overriding theme that permeates the whole Bible was introduced. This theme, the vindication of Jehovah’s sovereignty and the ultimate fulfillment of his purpose for the earth, by means of his Kingdom under Christ, the promised Seed, was wrapped up in the first prophecy concerning ‘the seed of the woman.’ (Ge 3:15)
Four thousand years after the original prophecy in Eden, the Promised Seed himself appeared, Jesus Christ, the legal heir to “the throne of David his father.” (Lu 1:31-33; Ga 3:16) Bruised in death by the earthly seed of the “serpent,” this “Son of the Most High” provided the ransom purchase price for the life rights lost to Adam’s offspring, thus providing the only means whereby mankind can get everlasting life. He was then raised on high, there to await the appointed time to hurl “the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan,” down to the earth, finally to be destroyed forever. Thus the magnificent theme announced in Genesis and developed and enlarged upon throughout the balance of the Bible is, in the closing chapters of Revelation, brought to a glorious climax as Jehovah’s grand purpose by means of his Kingdom is made apparent.
To understand the Bible is going to take a lot of dedication and time on your part. I've been studing for about five years now and still have far more to learn. But I can tell you one thing for sure, it's worth the sacrifice; the blessings you'll receive are going to be endless.

The NewTestament is not about an anger God, it is about a loving God.
Basically, Jesus teaches that God is available to each and every person in a personal way. The implication is that God will be there with you in the moments of darkness and the moments of light.
The New Testament's beautiful message is that we do not need intermediates or messengers to communicate with God. We may like Religion, Minister or Prince, Princess or President to lead us to our God, but the good news is that we have ready access to God personally.
The good news about God is that he or she can forgive the worst sort of crime or disloyalty and give a person a new chance at life.
This is a God who understands what it means to be Human. If that is so, then Jesus must have informed God, because Jesus was a Human. This is part of the Good News about The God of the New Testament.
You have every right to use your imagination to understand God. You have the permission to seek an understanding and the promise that if you seek, you shall find God.
In my own struggle to know life, in some way that makes sense of it, I have learned that Faith is a type of knowing, you make the metaphoric leap to faith and then you are welcomed to find comfort there. You see in your minds eye the possibility of life being complete and whole. That the spiritual imagination includes wholesomeness, and the possibility of a complete life are on the same plain and in the same realm as goodness toward others and respect for self, "God's realm."

Do you really want to learn how to read Scripture?
The Bible is written in metaphoric poetry using the the Form Parallelism.
Details of these issues are explained in THE NEW BOOK OF FORMS by Lewis Turco.
Basically, stories are told in metaphor like the children's story The Ugly Duckling; its not about a little duck but rather about a child. One parallels the other.
Sentences divide in parallel. Stories repeat in parallel though perhaps enlarged in scope as Genesis, chapters 1 and 2.
Because it is poetry the writing takes on a new level of significance unlike other forms of written word. Poetry is the art of language.
The Passion Play consists of four connected works performed in succession.
Matthew is told according to The Law.
Mark according to the statutes or judgments of The Law.
Luke is told from the viewpoint of Mercy [shown to fellow man.]
John is told showing Faithfulness to the Law according to the Statutes showing Mercuy.
The points Jesus told are important to focus on.
These Books Parallel the first four books of the Old Testament.

When you read the bible pray to God to help ypu to understand, there are bibles written in todays language, easy to understand and you can ask for help from a pastor/minister/priest. If you are serious just read a little bit every day, start on the New Testament, thats about after Jesus was born.
God bless you.

get a bible that speaks to you in today's language. The NIV, Amplified, all sorts of other versions outside fo King James. I think that's why people shy away from readinbecause they read KJV and are confused. But the bible lets you see God and how He is faithful to His people, it gives you morals and values, it tells about JESUS, prophecies, that has already come to past. The ones that are coming. It give hope, peace, wisdom, understanding, knowledge above anything earthly knowledge. Get one read one.

That would take way to long for anyone to write because of all the books. It's best you go to a priest and have him explain what is going on in the parts you don't understand.

No, it's not a brief story. It's a collection of a whole bunch of stories.
Don't feel too bad if you don't understand the bible. Most of the people who think they understand the bible don't understand it.
