Who's to say that the bible isn't just fictional stories that were made up to exaggerate the life people lived back then? I personally don't feel that the bible is something to live your lives after.

There is truth in the Bible, of course.

The Garden of Eden was located near the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, which is in modern day Iraq.

Jesus encountered people who wondered if they should pay their taxes to Caesar. It's 2 a.m. and I'm only 16 and just begining my "Bible dissection", so I don't really know if this is Julius Caesar they are talking about or some other Caesar... whatever. It was worth mentioning. An ark was discovered by Turks on the mountain of Ararat. The three major religions of the world recognize the fact that there once existed a man named of Jesus of Nazareth... The Red Sea actually exists. Egypt exists. Bethlehem (where Jesus was born) exists. Israel exists. Pontius Pilate existed...

Time for bed. I hope this helped a bit. Maybe you should get a book that discusses all of this stuff or maybe get a Bible and read it.

You write like you haven't read the bible with the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit assures me that I can trust the bible. God loves to show me things in the Bible. Also, the more I study and understand the Bible (with the Spirit of God) the more I realize it doesn't contradict the Message of Gods Saving Grace.

It is only when people think they got a better doctrine that contradicts. Though if anyone or doctrine bears a different message than the one in the Bible, I disregard it.

The bible has so many prophecies that were already fulfilled and are goin got be. It's not just a book of rules, but it's the Word of God. A lamp unto thy feet and a light unto thy path. Everything you need to know about even living a good life is in here. Try reading it with the help of the Holy Spirit, but the only wya you can get it is accepting Christ and what He did for you. The bible tells you that too

A lot of people could say that the Bible is or isn't true. If you don't want to believe it, you probably won't believe any evidence anyone has to show. Which the extent they can provide is probably time, proof of the Ark and temples and people, the fact that it has references to things that are also believed to be true (people). Hence, Christianity is all about faith. Believing without necessarily seeing.

There is no proof of anything mentioned in the Bible. The Bible is fiction.

I believe that the Bible is true. Read the book The Case For Christ by Lee Strobel. It's a good book with lots of evidence.

Is it the essence of the teachings that should be considered or the question of the stories being true or not ?

That's where humans err !

High time that humans gave importance to the essence of the Scriptures - all that the Holy and the Wise wanted to share with us rather than fight like ignorant kids on the question " who's toy is the best ?'

I suggest you read it your self first. Many of those who say they do not believe have not read it. I was one of them, but I did not rely on what other people said about the Bible. I tried to find out by reading it myself. Now I believe and now I know it is true. I started with the New Testament (4 Gospels) and found every word very much applicable to the present times and the future. Good luck.

There is alot of bible prophecys that have been fullfilled and we are at the very last one right now, and one of the last ones is when the jehovah witnesses say that they have preached to every one possible, then the end comes, for the wicked ones.
