I was playing online with my Playstation 2, and the thought just crossed my head. I was wondering what other people thought. If we're characters in God's video game system, what happens when he shuts it down?

It's when you ask the bible a question, close your eyes, open to a random page, and put your finger on a word without looking. Whatever that word is (or phrase) has something to do with the answer to your question.

the worshiped god of the moon in pre-islamic was Hubal?

Seriously, fundie islamaphobes have tried to smear the Islamic concept of a monotheistic deity as pagan and "Moon God"ish. But since Hubal was the moon god that Arabs worshiped, where would Allah fit in?

Hey, I've been wandering around a bit lately, and am looking for some good book ideas.

I've been putting off getting a copy of the Satanic Bible, as well as some of Crowley's books, and I wanted to know if The Satanic Bible was worth reading first, or should I save it till last.

Also, would it be new material, or simply "Hedonism," this and "Atheism," that?

Thanks in advance.

A generally accepted definition of faith is that it's believing in something that cannot be proven. But don't fundamentalist Christians believe that Scripture is the literal word of God? Don't they take this as proof of everything they believe about God? If something is proven, then it does not require faith to believe it. Does this then mean that fundamentalist Christians are people without faith?

Here's an example of what I'm saying: The existence of God cannot be proven. If I believe in him without proof, then I have faith. If fundamentalist Christians believe that the bible is proof of everything they believe about God, then no faith is required. They have proof. Does this mean they are people without faith?

Well let me ask you this, do you believe love is real? It could be the love of a mother for a child or the love between two lovers. I bet your answer is yes but have you ever actually seen love before. No you haven't, but you know it is real. Or have you ever seen the wind before? Sure you have seen it cause the trees and objects to move but you have never actually seen the wind before, yet you believe it is real. So why not believe in the God who made all these things?

.......in the first place? What was the reason for their existence since there were so many millions of them...... They had their own food chain, how long was the earth around before this do you think? And why did God not meantion them in elaborate detail in the "bible" since there were so many of them, millions, assumingly lying dead all around when they were all suddenly struck dead only about 6-10 thousand years ago????

my goodness.......

Well, this is just something I never really "got", the idea of heaven has always seemed kind of appauling to me,so I'm curious exactly what is positive about it?

Strictly biblicly speaking, heaven is a kingdom in which there is no death, sickness, or tears, now the first two are perfectly fine, but tears denote pain, both physical and emotional. So heaven is an existance without pain, past the problems of that, a lack of emotional pain also implies a lack of conflict, which can come about in two ways:

1. People are "purified" and no longer tempted toward sin when they enter heaven. This is bibically hinted at, but ultimately, as evils and sin come from free will, it is the equivelant of a moral lobotomy.

2. Such a similar group of people is chosen that no conceivable problems could ever rise between them. Leaving pleanty of moral helpful people suffering eternally while you sit in constant bliss, a fairly disgusting concept.
