Well, this is just something I never really "got", the idea of heaven has always seemed kind of appauling to me,so I'm curious exactly what is positive about it?
Strictly biblicly speaking, heaven is a kingdom in which there is no death, sickness, or tears, now the first two are perfectly fine, but tears denote pain, both physical and emotional. So heaven is an existance without pain, past the problems of that, a lack of emotional pain also implies a lack of conflict, which can come about in two ways:
1. People are "purified" and no longer tempted toward sin when they enter heaven. This is bibically hinted at, but ultimately, as evils and sin come from free will, it is the equivelant of a moral lobotomy.
2. Such a similar group of people is chosen that no conceivable problems could ever rise between them. Leaving pleanty of moral helpful people suffering eternally while you sit in constant bliss, a fairly disgusting concept.
