Have you ever watched the lightning jump through the clouds on a warm summer evening and light them up from the inside?

First of all the images of Jesus are not correct. So don't make your son believe that Jesus was what he saw in pictures.
Other thing is that Jesus was not son of God. Yes God created him like he created everything in universe. Special thing about Jesus was him miraculous birth without a father. There exist no one who we can associate with Jesus as his father. His mother Mary was a pious lady amongst Jews rather a lady above all the nations.
Now about God: He is a supreme, vital force who has created everything and everything has to return to him. He has the control of every movement and nothing can happen without his will. We as human have been given a limited knowledge or ability to think and within this ability we can't imagine how God looks like. In fact not only how God looks like but there are many other questions that if we start thinking on them we will see that our Brain has stuck and there is no answer, just like start thinking on how big this universe is is and where is its end. so simple answer to these sort of questions is to leave them thinking that they are beyond our limits.

My 21 year old brother said Jesus came to him and said "come with me." About 2 weeks later my brother was killed in a car wreck. Before he died, I asked him how he knew it was Jesus and he said he "just knew". We just laughed about it at the time. So for your son, I guess pictures work fine. For God, I guess the same, kind of someone who looks a bit like Santa. LOL.

Well the Bible tells us a lot of info on this one. Well, he was Jewish, living in Israel. So picture someone from Israel now. Their skin color would be white to tan. He was a grizzly person. Probably had long hair and a beard. He probably wore something resembling togas. He most likely wore an open-toes sandal and he carried very little. He was probably around 5'7" since that is a normal height and probably towards the skinnier side, though he was probably muscular.

First of all, I would explain to him that no- one knows what Jesus looked like, and that any pictures he has seen are from someones imagination. And besides, He looks completely different now.
If you want to get an idea of what God looks like, try staring directly at the sun at noon. That will give you an idea.
1Ti 6:16 Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom [be] honour and power everlasting. Amen.

If it were me talking to my child I would say,
God is Love. He is a great energy source made up from thousands of years worth of love. You can not see Love. It is something that you feel inside. That is how you know that God is always with you. You can not see him but you can feel his warm loving glow inside you.
And before anybody goes off on one I am not by answering this question comitting belief to any particular faith or dismissing the rights of any particular faith. I am just answering this question as one mother to another trying to answer the difficult question that our children raise.
Happy New Year.

Jesus says when you have seen the father you have seen me. So you tell him you know you look like your daddy and he looks like you . Well Jesus looks like his Daddy or God. They are separate. Not in one, It talks about this when Jesus was baptized.
God shows his body to Moses hands back and feet.

God is spirit and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and truth.
To make a representation of God would be to be in breach of the second of the Ten Commandments. You would also be leading your son to idol worship.
We have enough troubles with idols in our minds without adding to them.
...dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto, whom no man hath seen nor can see, to whom be honour and power everlasting, Amen.
How can you describe the invisible God ? How can you bound the Infinite One ? How can any representation of Him be adequate ?
Did not Christ come to explain Him ?
How is your son to know the truth ? You would be better to tell your young son that no man knows what He looks like for no man can see Him with the physical eye and any that should see Him would die.
And he said, Thou canst not see my face for there shall no man see me and live.
