Basically, do you think that all religions/belief systems need to have a god or gods to be considered a religion/belief system?

There is a muslim girl in my school and nearly everybody hates her. They call her a terrorist and make fun of her and her religion.
She wears a scarf and she is really beautiful. She keeps herself to herself. When people say something to her she smirks and walks off. I dont think she has told anyone about it. Recently a girl pretended she was interested in her religion so she invited her over to her house. The girl got hold of her pic (without the scarf on) somehow and she and her friends got her head and stuck it on a naked womans body and publically humiliated her. Everyone was laughing at her and i could tell she was hurt. People call her ugly, dont know why because she is really pretty. I want to talk to her but i dont know what to say. What should i do? No rude comments please.

When bad things happen to you do you blame God? If so then do you also blame Him when good things happen?

The atheist doesn't subscribe to the ideas propagated by those who choose to believe in a deity. It makes no sense that any human description of a creator would have any validity anywhere in the universe except in the anthropocentric, geocentric human mind.

Would you say there is equal probability for crystaline compounds forming in nature (quartz, diamond, etc.) and organic compounds forming in nature (Amino Acids, Lipids, etc.)?

We can and have observed the formation of crystaline compounds in controlled circumstances. We have even witnessed the creation of organic compounds in controlled circumstances. It doesn't take a big leap to posit that crystaline substances do occur in nature... in fact you can find evidence in any quary or mine. Similarly, it wouldn't be hard to imagine organic compounds forming through natural chemical processes.

With that said, it doesn't take a great leap of faith to know there is a good probability that organic compounds can form, unaided, in nature. There is then a great probability that this is how life itself got started.

Why are there no female evangelist preachers? Aren't females smart enough to understand God as well as all these men do?

Or is it because evangelists believe that the bible is literally true and it says that women should be silent in the churches, and if they want to learn something, they should ask their husbands at home?

Just for any of you who might think that the bible does not say that, here it is:

"Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in Church" 1Corinthians14:34-35

How do you females feel about this, that the Holy Bible says that if you want to learn something you're supposed to shut up and ask your husband at home?

This has been thrown about way too much lately. How exactly can a field of biological study equal a religion? There's no belief system, there's no tradition, no rituals, no deities, nothing.

If this is your opinion, please explain how this so called evolutionism is a religion.

I myself am a jehovahs witness and we are constantly getting ridiculed for going door to door and beliving wut we belive. We belive that jehovah is gods name and jesus is gods son. we dont celebrate holladays because they were made up by the pagans and the pagans didnt belive in god. Every coment we have or every statment we have when we go to your door is bible based information. We belive that someday we are going to be able to live in peace in harmony in a paradise earth under jehovahs laws and standards. We dont get baptised when we are born..we get baptized when we are ready to dedicate are lives to jehovah. Now let me ask you this. Do jehovahs wittnesess look like unhappy people? Is what we preach something that sounds false and dumb? Do we make sence when we talk about things in the world? How Many of you people hate us? and why do you hate us? Have you ever takin the chance to look into are religion? And those who are my religion......what do you have to say?

We atheists have a lot to believe in. Nature and the workings of the universe. It is irrational to define all that in a humanistic form. Humans are a miniscule part of the universe and our demise would not change the universe at all. So why should we define a god by our terms?

If Jesus is God and not just a man...

1) Why would he have to be conceived, and birthed? Why couldn't he just come down to Earth? And where was he before he was born? Because there's no mention of him anywhere.

2) How can God die? Why did he need the other God (the Father) to resurrect him? Couldn't he do that himself?

3) Why did Jesus perform his miracles by praying to God (the Father) and asking him to perform the miracle, instead of doing them himself?

4) Why were Jesus' miracles limited to the people in his vicinity, and not the entire Earth? Why did he pick and choose the small amount of people he helped, and then left everyone else on Earth to continue suffering?

5) Why would Jesus, who is God and therefore perfect, need to spend 40 days in the wilderness fasting and letting himself be tempted? Isn't he God, and perfect? Isn't it pointless to tempt perfection?

This is a retooled version of an earlier question, I confess. a) I couldn' believe that none of the atheists that so enjoy mocking believers were fair enough to answer my original question b) I was trying something new technically. So! Why are you here? Why do you visit an area when you clearly have neither religion OR spirituality... an area that has nothing to do with you. You have the right, and I respect that right, to NOT believe in the existence of God and to live a totally secular life. It is equally our right to be believers in something greater than ourselves and to try to live our lives accordingly. This is a clearly an area that has absolutely nothing with you. Why do you insist on visiting this section and basically insulting us, addressing us as if we were either stupid, on crack or both? Does it empower you somehow? Do you feel better about your non-belief by belittle believers? Or is it simply jealousy because "faith is not the possession of all people"?

What do you think is man originally vegetarian or non-vegetarian? Do you think to eat flesh can affect the way of ethic and health too?
I think man is originally vegetarian but due to some reason like scarcity of vegetable he has to eat flesh. Because if you would study of biology you would see there are differences between vegetarian and non-vegetarian animal in their shape of jaws, teeth, nails and intestine and in their power of digestive system also. . ,

Is Christmas Worshipping God in Vain?
Since Christmas is a jumble of ancient pagan customes invented by men, and a holiday found nowhere in the Bible, does God honor or accept such worship?
Jesus provides the answer in His stern rebuke of the religious teachers of his day, men who had substituted human traditions and teachings for God's divine truth and commands " Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites....' in vain they worship me, teaching doctrines the commandments of men' All to well reject the commandment of God , that you may keep your tradition " ( Mark 7:6-9)

You know in the 17th Century christmas was actually outlawed in England and some parts of American colonies because of its unbiblical and pagan origins. They knew something most people today have forgotton or have never known.

Please tell me what you think on this issue

I mean everyone's always pushing religion down my throat. I think everyone needs to really see that it's seperating us. What's the difference between a British person who believes in Jesus and a British person who believes in the Islamic religion. NOTHING, they're still the same people. Why can't people see that a book can't fall from the sky just like that. And if it really did happen, I hope the guy who found it had a concusion. I see how God helps some people get through the day but can't they believe in themselves? Instead of joining a convent and having no life, people should go out there and take a chance. Don't waste your time and strength for worshipping what's inside your mind, or what has been put there. Sheesh I feel like some people just need to get over it, when you die you die. Also, there is no God, some people just created him because they need something like a "crutch" to get through life. Well guess what, it's not working because it's only seperated us even more.

Justice also has four aspects depth of understanding, profoundeness of knowledge, fairness of judgement and dearness of mind; because whoever tries his best to under- stand a problem will have to study it, whoever has the practice of studying the subject he is to deal with, will develop a clear mind and will always come to correct decisions, whoever tries to achieve all this will have to develop ample patience and forbearance and whoever has done this has done justice to the cause of religion and has led a life of good repute and fame.

Conviction has also four aspects to guard oneself against infatuations of sin; to search for explanation of truth through knowledge; to gain lessons from instructive things and to follow the precedent of the past people, Because whoever wants to guard himself against vices and sins will have to search for the true causes of infatuation and the true ways of combating them out and to find those true ways one has to search them with the help of knowledge, whoever gets fully acquainted with various branches of knowledge will take lessons from life and whoever tries to take lessons from life is actually engaged in the study of the causes of rise and fall of previous civilizations.
