It was his Mummy....

Mary Magdalene and the Virgin Mary (notice how even Jesus's MOM did not have a proper last name?)

Maybe that was why the early Christian Church was so emphatic about keeping the "Virgin" title to her name...... did not have a last name, so might as have a title, hmmm????

I didn't read the passage, but I believe it is about the 3 Marys visiting the tomb of Jesus.

1 is Mary, the Mother of Jesus.
1 is Mary of Magdala, otherwise known as Mary Magdaline [sp?]
The other is Lazarus' sister Mary

Explanations,#1 the first mary is Mary Magdalene, the other Mary is Jesus's Mother whom both new each other very well and were togehter during the prosecutin and execution of Jesus.

What did jesus die for? why did he come in the first place?

The BIble says God and man are seperated because of sin, sin is transgression of the Law (ten Comnmandments) IN other words, if you have lied, stolen, looked with lust, uswd Gods name in vain or coveted, you have broken Gods Law, and he has written his Law upon your heart, he has given you a conscience . The BIble says the sin you have committed is filthy in the eyes of God, and he sees every thought word and deed, even the secret sins we thought no one else would see. thereofre he being Holy Must punish you, and the BIble makes it clear you would end up in hell. But, Jesus came and died on the cross paying the penalty for your sins, you broke the Law and Jesus paid your fine. Then he arose on the third day defeating death and the grave for each and every one who will repent and trust in him. And thats the only thing you can do to be saved from the wrath to come, repent (turn from sin) and place your faith and trust in jesus. God will forgive you, agrant you the gift of everlasting life and send his spirit to live within you. So Today, Think about all the times you have transgressed those ommandments by lying stealing ect, then think about your God dying on the cross and it will break your heart, then in repentance turn to God and trust in Him.
God Bless

The other Mary.” She was the wife of Clopas and the mother of James the Less and Joses. (Mt 27:56, 61; Joh 19:25) Tradition, though without any Scriptural support, says that Clopas and Joseph, the adoptive father of Jesus, were brothers. If true, that would make this Mary Jesus’ aunt, and her sons his cousins.

Mary was a popular name. There's Mary the mother of Jesus. There's Mary Magdelen. Lazarus had a sister named Mary. There may have been others.

What was your point?

I think that it's the Virgin Mary but not positive. Mary was the most common name back then. Almost 50% of women were named either Mary or Miriam at that time.

Lazarus Sister Mary, who was always in the company of Jesus is the common one people think it is referring too. However, it is not known for sure because it doesn't say.
