I sometimes wonder why do people make one sometimes with their religion as if it was a part of them for ever ...for example, I am Muslim , or I am Christian, I am buddhist, ..I was wondering if someone can change religion than why not I practice Islam, I practice christianity , I practice buddhism ... and do you think what ever the culture, religion is important in life , as long people are taught that there is a god who exists ?

I mean, if you believe all of the details such as the age of the earth etc, doesn't that detract from appreciating the bible as a cultural artifact in itself? I am an atheist and I love sacred art - eg of the renaissance - but surely fundamentalists miss out on the joys of seeing allegory, fable and the like played out in wondrous works of art?.......

Many people who claim that the Bible is the literal word of God base such claims on the "accuracy" of past Biblical predictions coming to be (such as the coming of the Messiah as described in the OT and fulfilled in the NT.) Your God is also beleived to be the only true God in existence...

Im curious: how those that beleive in Biblical Prophency view Mayan Prophencies?? (<
The Mayans were a polytheistic society who beleive in cosmogenesis and watched the Heavens, mapping the revolution of the earth and sun inside our own galaxy with such precision that they were able to determine that the precessional spin of earth's axis occurs once every 26000 years. As a result, they predicted (written in the Popol Vul, equivalent to the Bible) that white man would arrive in the Americas in 1546 and that their civilization would crumble via warfare and disease brought by white man....

Someone made a comment about bieng told by Christians that they are going to hell, so what do you care if you don't believe it anyway? Why should that bother an athiest? Christians are always bieng accused of things that I personally have never done.
I have never told people that they were going to hell. I have always told them that God loves them, whether they want His love or not or whether they believe it or not. I would like to hear answers from both sides, thanks.

My boyfriend recently went to confessional about a week ago, and NOW after 4 years of us being sexually involved, he is deciding that he wants to become celibate. He wants to be a "a good and moral person" and has decided that this is the way to get into heaven. He can't understand for the life of him WHY it is such a big deal to me. He insists that he still wants me just as much, etc etc (and for the record I'm decent looking enough). My question is -- do any of you think this is f***ing batshit insane as well? I'm so angry I dont know what to do...I want to marry this guy, but he's saying we can't get married until his finances are in order-- ITS BEEN 4 YEARS....advice people? Please be serious and not so snarky, it's tearing me up. (also, I'm not religious, but he is and I respect his beliefs, but will he necessarily rot in the bowels of hell if we continue to have sex in our monogamous relationship?)

Today we celebrate the feast of the Holy Innocents, those children who were killed by Herod because he was afraid that Jesus might take his throne. Please pray for victims of abortion, who like the Holy Innocents are killed because their parents are afraid that these poor, defenseless children will in some way take over thier lives or ruin them.
Please share your opinions and pray for an end to abortion.

Is it unchristian or against christianity to meditate? I am a christian and have started to use meditation as a means to clear my mind for the day ahead. Although with the history behind it I am begining to have doubts about it. So back to the question . Do you think it is okay for a christian to meditate?

Consider this: do you see homosexual "pride" marches in Iran? No.

Do you see mincing, swishing "queens" parading down the streets in Iran? No.

Do you see homosexuals creating a public nuisance by congregating in homosexual bars in Iran? No.

Do you see homosexuals demanding that the institution of marriage between one man and one woman being discarded so as to include homosexual "relationships" in Iran? No.

Do homosexuals know their place in Iran, and are homosexuals shoved back into the closet just about as far as they will go? YES.

PENSACOLA, Fla. - When the bikes Dennis and Tamie Leporin bought themselves for Christmas to ride with their young son disappeared from their front lawn, the couple posted a sign to let the thieves know their disappointment.

"I hope U crooks enjoy our bikes U stole; Merry X-Mas," the sign read.

The next evening the couple heard a knock at their door and found an envelope with $200 inside. A pickup truck was driving away.

"Inside was a note that read, 'For every crook, there are 1,000 good people'," Dennis Leporin told the Pensacola News Journal.

I have recently been through a really tough time in my life, (still not quite through it). I started back to church, pray and always ask God for guidance, love and strengh. My problem is that I don't feel like God is with me. I don't know what else to do. I have no one to talk to. Any suggestions?

When Christians ask questions on here and you rush in with your wit and sarcasm does it make you feel good to ridicule and insult us? Or is there a part of you that is curious and still open to the message. It seems to me there are other catagories that would give better answers to your comments than here where most of us love and accept you.
