Many people who claim that the Bible is the literal word of God base such claims on the "accuracy" of past Biblical predictions coming to be (such as the coming of the Messiah as described in the OT and fulfilled in the NT.) Your God is also beleived to be the only true God in existence...
Im curious: how those that beleive in Biblical Prophency view Mayan Prophencies?? (<
The Mayans were a polytheistic society who beleive in cosmogenesis and watched the Heavens, mapping the revolution of the earth and sun inside our own galaxy with such precision that they were able to determine that the precessional spin of earth's axis occurs once every 26000 years. As a result, they predicted (written in the Popol Vul, equivalent to the Bible) that white man would arrive in the Americas in 1546 and that their civilization would crumble via warfare and disease brought by white man....

They were uncannily accurate - in 1546, when Cortez arrived in Mexico, the Mayans were standing on the beach, awaiting his arrival...
How does an ancient culture who has never heard of your god and who worships many other Gods achieve such accurate methods of predicting their own demise??
And, if it is a self fulfilling prophency, can not the same be said for the Biblical prophency? That you will allow it to occur because it is written??

My beliefs lean more toward the Mayan prophecies. However, I keep in mind that no matter how intellegent a group of people are, they are still people and can never know future events for certain. I am however very interested in the fact that they could predict the Earth's axis tilt in the year 2012 (I believe, I may be wrong on the exact year) when our scientists have just recently obtained information to back that suggestion up.

They also appeared to have made a chemical battery and developed a water way system that goes uphill (or was that the Aztecs, well, it was one of them).
Who is to say God doesn't touch the lives of everyone in the world.
Remember 2001 where the man ape touched the Monolith which then sent a signal to him and made him develop war weapons.
The cosmic nudge from the Sentinile.
Science fiction authors don't agree with scientists. They don't agree in the random theory. They feel things need a nudge from something greater. Most sci fi authors are preaching diesm if not open religion.
Sci Fi authors predicted many of our inventions, including rockets, nuclear subs, TV sets.

The ninevites didn't believe in our God, but God did get a prophecy through to them. He may very well have revealed what he was going to do to the mayans as well, but the source of the revelation became obscured by the belief system they ultimately came under. There are similar stories in other parts of the world, like in South America (with the Incas I believe).

the place interior the bible does one discover the Apocrypha? i replaced into under the effect that replaced right into a catholic e book, written long after the bible. surely, the scripture you quote is taken out of context and it would not say till "you" bypass away, its says till "that technology" bypass away, speaking with reference to the technology of Israel turning out to be a rustic lower back. A biblical technology is 70 years, Israel grew to grow to be a rustic lower back in 1948, giving us till 2018 for the tribulation to start. sure, there have been distinctive end time predictions, i've got faith the Jehova Witnesses have the record on fake end time predictions, yet an excellent form of the greater valid fake predictions are in basic terms brought about via people misinterpreting scripture (utilizing "you" instead of "that technology"), such as you probably did. The a million,000 12 months reign of Christ starts after the suited wrath, interior the hot, stronger earth.

Ummmm.....can you point me to the specific place(s) these "prophecies" are listed? I can't seem to find any reference to them at all, nor does it state anything about 1546 or colonialist white men on beaches:

Like the previous entry, the bible has never been proven wrong. Also, check your sources on who documented all those "facts" you just threw out there....
