It's the easy way out. It removes from them any responsibility for their moral choices, because it's all laid out for them. They are told what is good and evil, what is right and wrong, and they don't have to decide for themselves. Some even let religion dictate what the course of their lives ought to look like! So convenient, to not have to choose for themselves.
But it comes at a terrible price, the loss of command over their lives. I pity them, actually. To put the power of control, and even happiness, outside of themselves, they disempower themselves utterly.

My relationship with Chirst Jesus. Is a personal relationship. He is my friend. He isn't a religion. This where people get tripped up. Religion sound like. You go to church to punch a time card. In and out. After that I do what I want type of thing. So, you have a choice to accept. Or not accept. Jesus doesn't myself on anyone. As a christian I could be wrong. If I am I don't have much to lose. But if I am right. What do you have to lose. Where ever we are going. It is going to enternal. Enternal hell fire. Or be in heaven. With our heavenly father. Where there is no crying. No pain. Satan was let lose from heaven. To devour anyone he can. He only has so much time on this earth. There were over 360 prophecies foretold about the coming Jewish Messiah - hundreds of years before Jesus was born in Bethlehem. Jesus fulfilled all 365 of these prophecies. Of these 360+ prophecies, there are 109 that only Jesus (Yeshua) could have fulfilled. See complete list of 365 Messianic Prophecies here. Please consider asking him into your heart. Before it is too late. And if you don't you have that choice. But there always conquences for our actions.

Some of what you say is true.
Religion does divide.
Please do not think religion is simply praying and going to church.
Religion is a force!
It influences people and their outlook on life.
Therefore British christians and British muslims are NOT the same.
Sure they all sleep, eat and go poop, but how do you explain 'sleeper terrorists'.
They look the same and seem to act the same for 10, 15, 20 years and then we realize they had an agenda all along.
We all need a healthy, positive influence in our lives.
So many religions claim to provide it.
However, their claim is false ...they are false religion and that is why they divide.

That's a really hard question to answer. Here's the thing: it's different for everyone. Some people need something to believe in and for others, they just follow the crowd. You can't just ay there is no God because you don't know that for a fact. You have no right to tell people to stop worshipping Him. We all believe something different and people have been following different religions for years.

We don't know there is no God anymore than we know there is. But what we believe should not be a barrier...unfortunately it is. Since humans are aware of the possibility of a Force greater than themselves, there has always been a tendancy to find ways to worship that force and also, unfortunately, to believe that your way is the only way. Many of the first religions were very tolerant of others, but the monotheistic religions, especially Christianity and Islam are very judgemental in their view of those who do not worship or believe in the same way. I do not agree with you that 'when you die you die' or that 'there is no god', but I agree with your right to believe that - you need to agree to my right to believe as I see fit. if we all believed that each person has the right to believe as they will, then there wouldn't be these conflicts over religion...

All we like sheep...
Generally people do not want to think for themselves so they allow there pastor to do it for them. A great tradition since the Dark Ages (at least in Christianity and more recently Islam) and the masses were 98% illiterate.
The western world has placed a decent amount of value on education since the Puritians believe it or not, and literacy and reason is leading to more and more questions which leads to more and more agnostics and atheists.
Then there is also a mob mentality. That sense of belonging and eliteism that exists within the monotheistic beliefs.

It's obvious that you don't know a whole lot about religion if you do not know the difference b/w Islam and Christianity. This "everyone prays to the same God" stuff is complete and utter bogus.
God created the world and has unlimited power. THose to pray are asking for strength. Some people like to consider that weakness. I consider it reality. Life is very difficult to make it through on your own. I prefer some spirtual assistance.

If you ask someone their opinion, you have to expect them to give you an answer. To answer your question, I'm not dependent on religion, but I am dependent upon God. Better Him than the wisdom of man, which is hollow and does not satisfy me. If your happy without God, I would have my doubts that you are. I would pray for you because that is the kind thing to do for people you think are lost. But to cramm it down your throat, if God Himself cannot convince you, I know I certainly could not. God teaches me that even if you don't believe in Him, you still have just as much value as me, because He created you. Peace.

well, the truth is that if you just push someone religion it will hurt them deeper, I am sorry for that. They push religion on them because they care and love for you. But yet they don't understand that you too are human and have questions. I know it is confusing when they do that. If you have any questions, which I know you do, about the religion of Christianity then I will stick by you and answer them. I hope that you find your inner peace and if you have questions email me at uziell3@yahoo.com, we are dependent on religion because it gives us hope in a hopeless world and only then can we find a solid base made of rock and not of sand.

Well, you said the magic word...crutch. For a broken leg you would use a crutch made of wood to lean on. For a broken, weak mind you use the crutch of religion to lean on.
