Why are there no female evangelist preachers? Aren't females smart enough to understand God as well as all these men do?

Or is it because evangelists believe that the bible is literally true and it says that women should be silent in the churches, and if they want to learn something, they should ask their husbands at home?

Just for any of you who might think that the bible does not say that, here it is:

"Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in Church" 1Corinthians14:34-35

How do you females feel about this, that the Holy Bible says that if you want to learn something you're supposed to shut up and ask your husband at home?

That Bible passage right there is why I stopped going to church. Because too many people take it word for word and literally. Women are not below men they are equal. There is actually a Jewish story LEFT OUT of the Old Testament. Before Eve there was Lillith. Lillith was Adam's first wife, he never treated her as an equal and always disrepected her. She got so fed up she basically turned into a demon from lack of love and compassion.

THough some denominations now "allow" women to become ministers, it still is not a level playing feild.

Amazing what's left out of the Bible isn't it?

It depends on what kind of minister you are looking for in women. I will give you a list and you can check them out.
Paula White
Juanita Bynum-Weeks
Kim Ray
Bernice King (Martin Luther King daughter)
Taffy Dollar
Pastor Scott (education ministry)
Those are a few. Check them out.
As for the Passage in the bible where it's says "women keep silent in the church", I think that was meant for that day and time. Just like having 500 wives. Try pulling that crap today. We move with the time. God is able to move and speak through anyone, children, nature, MEN and WOMEN.

there are plenty of female ministers and preachers. You just have to look for them. I suggest checking out a church directory website. I am sure you will find some. Your interpretation of what the bible says about women are completely off base. Yes it may say that, but it doesn't mean that literally. Churches were set up for all people, not just men to speak. There are some great women speakers out there. Any of the women of faith speakers are phenomenal.

Most ministry is done by females..............

Methodist, Anglican, Episcopalian, Lutheran, United Congregationalist, Presbyterians all ordain women and even though the Catholic Church doesn't women are the overwhelming number of graduates with degrees in Divintiy or Master in theology and work as lay ministers, women make up 80% of the ministers within the Catholic Church (especially since most ministry actually is not done in the context of worship service). Heck a woman Mary Eddy Baker founded Christian Scientist along with several other women founding smaller movements.

Women make up well over half the ministers in all Christian ministry. Personally I cannot speak to the percentages they make up outside of Christianity (although reformed Jews do have women rabbis) but since you listed only Christians this will probably address your question.

I hate playing the scripture one up thing, but since you did it........
Acts 21:9. And he had four daughters, virgins, who did prophesy (regarding Paul's daughters preaching)

Romans Chapter 16 is Paul's introductions of who he calls great, beloved ministers they include Phoebe, Prisca, Mary, Junia, Julia, Patrobas, Hermas, Olympas and many others who served prominently with him.

To Bubba I have to say.............

Women were the first and most devoted followers of Christ:

It was Elizabeth who first witnessed him,
It was Mary who bore him,
It was women who followed his ministry first,
It was women who defended and did not deny him at trial,
It was women who wiped his face and his wounds on his journey with the cross,
It was women who stayed with him and stood at his feet until his death long after the men left,
It was women who removed and buried his body
It was women that stood vigil at the tomb,
It was a woman he first appeared to,
It was a woman that carried the message of the resurrection, the Apostle to the Apostles,
It was women who carried his message out with the men in the early Church............Whether you like it or not Jesus by these action made women ministers, and women by their's proved themselves worthy.

Jesus loved women and so does churches because they are the ones that do the majority of the work, for both............

Several denominations now have female ministers and bishops. I feel that this is wrong. The position of pastor, elder and deacon in the church is given to the men of the church. After the incident in the Garden of Eden, woman's punishment was to bear her children with pain, to have her conception increased, and to be under the authority of her husband. If a woman is her husband's pastor, she is not under his authority, he is under her's. Now there will be those who say that this has all changed and men and women are now equal in the eyes of God as to their positions in the church. My response is; does it still hurt to deliver babies? Do women still have their periods every month? Why would God change one of woman's punishments and leave the others intact? God has not changed His mind over this; women are NOT to be in authority over men. I am reminded of a story by W. A Criswell. A woman approached him after services one Sunday and said that she felt that she was called to be a minister. Dr. Criswell asked her if she had children. She said, "Yes, I have six". He promptly responded, "Then thank the Lord, Madam, for He has given you your congregation, also."

there are. Thru time, there have been female priestesses. As a cation, we follow the don't let women be the teachers of men. It might be thru hearsay, but, we stick to this. But, as far as the rest of the church goes, women teach, and basically run the church

I think its pure insanity to treat women this way, and I don't want to hear anything about "oh, that was a different society" because god did not have one problem ending the society of Sodom and Gomorrah. God could have stopped the oppression of women before it even started.

I don't believe any religion that says women are 2nd to men. Excuse me but we are the mothers of the earth and deserve much more respect than "shut up and ask your husband at home". This is how one treats a child.

Joyce Meyers is a famous tv preacher/evangelist.
Anne Graham Lotz (Billy Graham's daughter) is a female evangelist, just to name a couple.

There are plenty of them out there.

I'm not a christian, so I won't speak to this, but honestly.. why are you trying to provoke?
