What about your good friends?Do you try to surround yourself with people who share your beliefs? My boyfriend and my close friends all share my beliefs and I was curious if it was the same for others.Do you think it would be hard to be close to someone who doesn't believe?

Have you ever heard the "adahan" (the Islamic call to prayer).

http://www.iwebaudio.net/adhaan/alaqsa_a...

I would like to know what's your opinion about the way it sounds, not about Islam itself please, with all due respect for Muslims and non-Muslims. If you haven't the link pasted above takes you there. Thank you.

Toward the end of the Roman Empire, weak leaders, low morals and too many wars abroad sapped the energy of the Roman Empire. Will the USA collapse in a similar fashion within the next 50 years?

A) the older pair going out and the younger pair going out

B) the older pair marrying (after going out for a while) and the younger pair going out

I would prefer answers related to Christianity.

Mayan prophecy predicts the end of the world in 2012. It should be noted that they also accurately predicted the arrival of white explorers and the downfall of their civilization. They seem to have some track record, so will it happen or not?

I believe in God, but I don't go to Church, and I was never baptized? My parents were Catholic, and my grandfather was a Protestant.

I say yes.

As a matter of fact, I am going to go write my Congessman right now urging him to sponsor legislation making it legal for same-sex fetuses to marry, and share each others stem cells.

Everyone at church was asking for prayer for all kinds of illnesses, so I figured this guy must be mentally ill, so I requested prayer for him. Now I feel like an idiot. Should I have done that? No one else helped me, so I figured God would.

God made the haves and have nots to curb the flock. God lets disease and famine occur because he knows the earth can't sustain so many people.
God didn't intend for scientific advancement, technology and industry,
why do we defy his will to kill us like he wants to so badly?

We don't get to choose what brains we get and everyone keeps saying that we are all different. So if we come out of the womb different, then where is the free will to determine what we are? For some people, pleasureable chemicals are released in the brain when they do certain activties so they do them more. For other people, they get reward out of other activites. The brain chemistry was never chosen so where is the Free Will in all this?

vaporized the devil but He utilized the Bible, the Sword of the Spirit, to combat satan. Jesus says in Matthew 10:34, "Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword." Therefore, shouldn't Christians utilize the Sword of the Spirit (the word of God) in fighting the devil and his servants?

... most of you can't agree on a single thing about him or her (or them). I'm not looking for any more answers about how each individual's personal god is the real thing. I'm quite up to speed with all that stuff.

Faith is fine. But I'm looking to see how far you'll take into account the possible consequences of - quite innocently - believing in the wrong deity. For all your certainty, don't you run a terrible risk of the true god is angry that you chose to worship a different one?

EVERY believer KNOWS that their god is the right one, don't they?

Are you taking chances with your eternal soul? SOME of you HAVE to be, don't you?

Hypothetically, if God did exist, he would be a supreme being and no single human would be able to surpass him in any way. Right? However, in this civil society we do not torture people even for the worst of crimes-simply because it cruel and inhumane to do so. We have established a law under section 12 of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms that states “Everyone has the right not to be subjected to any cruel and unusual treatment or punishment.” If humans have the potential to surpass God in the trait of mercy then the fundamental belief that he is superior is broken. Using this logic; does he not exist?

I live in nyc.
