because religion is a man made concept. if you have the Holy Spirit inside of you then you have a better chance to act in love but as humans we still have the freedom of choice. without the Holy Spirit it is so much harder to do what is right but if you do mess up at least you will have that inner voice to guide you but then you still have to listen to it. religion is a dead thing that jesus hated, it is evil by nature as it is man made. our churches have recreated, (some say to control, i agree,) that which Jesus freed us from. look at the example of the first century church in the book of Acts in the bible. that is what church should be not this shadow that has helped to kill, steal & destroy, but then we do need forgiving heart also and i know i mess up so who am i to condemn others for their mistakes?

God was created by man so that religion would exist, religion was needed so that priests could have power over others. War and conflict are a spin off result of rivalry between different religious factions. Religion doesn't need harmony, it just needs followers. If you want peace and harmony dump religion and encourages the same course of action.

People create the conflict by focusing on the differences and their own perceived rightness/superiority over those who don't believe in the same thing as them. Sometimes this is advocated (or interpreted as being advocated) by the religious scripture. It is sad.
