What about your good friends?Do you try to surround yourself with people who share your beliefs? My boyfriend and my close friends all share my beliefs and I was curious if it was the same for others.Do you think it would be hard to be close to someone who doesn't believe?

Yes, my husband does share the same faith, Christians. Many of my friends are Christians, but I do have some friends who do not believe. There is a difference in how I feel towards them. You can not share some things with unbelievers, because you know they don't want to hear it. So I respect that.

Yes...my girlfriend and I share the same beliefs for the most part, though we differ on a few issues. I am in agreement with you that is very hard to be close to someone who doesn't believe. I tried for 10 years, and issues of faith were always coming up between us.

As for friends, I have plenty of friends that are non-believers. I believe Christ set that example for us by dining with tax collectors and prostitutes.

Yes, It's hard. My beloved husband is not a believer; but he is the sweetest man in the world to me. I got saved after we were married, and have been praying for him ever since. We have open honest discussions, but he doesn't seem to quite understand the necessity of being saved. I don't push though, I just love him!

I have friends who are both believers and unbelievers.

My husband is more or less Christian and I don't share his beliefs. I don't have a problem with them though. I've actually grown quite fond of one of his favorite Christian bands. There are only problems between Christians and non-Christians if you make problems.

Yes, that was one of the things we talked about before we got married. We had to be equally yoked or not yoked at all.

My best friends are believers. Others are acquaintances.

Yes. It would be impossible to be close to a spouse/significant other who didn't believe.

You limit yourself if you surround yourself with clones. When you expand your circle of friends to include all sorts of people with all sorts of beliefs, your life and knowledge also expand.

You should listen to everyone, you can learn from everyone, even stupid people

I'm an atheist with a Catholic girlfriend. I have rather diverse friends - some Christian friends, one Jewish friend, one Muslim friend. It's a small town.
