Toward the end of the Roman Empire, weak leaders, low morals and too many wars abroad sapped the energy of the Roman Empire. Will the USA collapse in a similar fashion within the next 50 years?

We had this debate yesterday on how long can America continue as a federated union of 52 countries.
Here are some points from our meeting
A sizable majority 32 to 8 believe that California will try secession within the next 10 years and this will start the fragmentation process.
Black Americans will try to gain control of at make at least three southern states . This could lead to a very nasty incident.
America is in reality bankrupt and cannot sustain itself in it's present form without a massive collapse, as world trade equalizes this will exacerbate the situation.
Completely different from the Roman empire, but the same end result.

Which end of the roman empire? The move of the capital to byzantium? The last roman emperor in the west? The fall of constantinople in the late 15th century? The 'fall' of the roman empire wasnt an event, nor was it a straight road from strength to collapse. It was centuries of history, with successes and reverses. Only in hindsight could a story of the 'fall of rome' be written.

Also, the roman republic and empire were forged by leaders with low morals who gained fame wealth and glory fighting wars abroad.

The Roman Empire didn't fall because of the reasons you mentioned. "Low morals" is a subjective term that cannot even be used in a historical context. The Roman Empire fell due to a vast unequal distribution of wealth. The extremely wealthy leaders had everything while the average person had nothing. When the empire came under attack, unsuprisingly the average person refused to defend an empire that had already sold them out. The same thing is happening here and yes we are on the road to collapse but for different reasons.

The entire world, including the USA, is currently in the dual processes of decay and composition. That is, the old ways of thinking and acting on every level (individual, institutional, governmental) are decaying - decomposing - dieing. That is what we see all around us and that is what you describe happening in the USA - the process of decay.

Simultaneously, however, is the process of composition. On November 17, 1912 while speaking to a group at the Genealogical Hall in New York, 'Abdu'l-Baha spoke these words:

1. "From every standpoint the world of humanity is undergoing a reformation. The laws of former governments and civilizations are in process of revision; scientific ideas and theories are developing and advancing to meet a new range of phenomena; invention and discovery are penetrating hitherto unknown fields, revealing new wonders and hidden secrets of the material universe ; industries have vastly wider scope and production; everywhere the world of mankind is in the throes of evolutionary activity indicating the passing of the old conditions and advent of the new age of reformation. Old trees yield no fruitage; old ideas and methods are obsolete and worthless now. Old standards of ethics, moral codes and methods of living in the past will not suffice for the present age of advancement and progress. ...

Baha'u'llah, the Sun of Truth, has dawned from the horizon of the Orient, flooding all regions with the light and life which will never pass away. His teachings, which embody the divine spirit of the age and are applicable to this period of maturity in the life of the human world are:

The oneness of the world of humanity
The protection and guidance of the Holy Spirit
The foundation of all religion is one
Religion must be the cause of unity
Religion must accord with science and reason
Independent investigation of truth
Equality between men and women
The abandoning of all prejudices among mankind
Universal peace
Universal education
A universal language
Solution of the economic problem
An international tribunal"

The timeline of the collapse of the old ways in the US is hard to say, but it is clear and evident that many of the new standards are already in the process of composition in the US and around the world.

It would be a sad day for humanity but a joyous one for beleivers, as the time at hand would seem ever closer. After the roman empire collapsed, new nations were born.

Every human empire is propense to collapse. The United States of America is not an exception. You can clearly see how it has walked away from its original principles. You can see how their economy is shrinking, as well as using certain economical institutions to oppress the poor countries (read "Globalization and its Discontents," by Nobel prize Joseph E. Stiglitz).

You just can sense it... you can foresee (sp?) it.

YEP! Afraid so!

Rome also extended itself too far-just like the USA is doing today!

It will die from within leaving a big big gap for Sharia Law and the moon god worshipping religion.

YUK!

The fall of every Great Empire was due to the "mockers".
Who made the leaders look like fools. Made it seem funny
to take it up the butt. And made everyone think life was
for nothing, and they let themselves go to Hell!

UInfortunately it is not likely. Transport, supply lines and communications have improved a little since roman times

The USA is not like the old ROME when it fell. It can't be compared.
