Do you plan on making any resolutions regarding your faith?

Cash in those frequent flier miles and head to Mecca this year? Make sure you never miss Synagogue on Saturday? Start doing devotions every day? Read *all* of Richard Dawkins' work?

What are you *not* doing now that you think you should be to better a better representative of your belief system?

I will be taking a course which is all about the "Problem of Evil" or theodicy. This is basically the old question of why do bad things happen to good people.

Before the class begins, I'm just interested in hearing some individual's responses to the question.

Please share what your faith tradition is, if it is relevant. Thanks!

I have searched Wikipedia and browsed a little, but still can't grasp the entire meaning of Paganism as a religion.

In simple terms, what is Paganism?

What do you guys believe? Do you believe in reincarnation, Judgment Day, hell & heaven etc etc or what exactly?

Is it true that you pray to statues? Who is your God/s?

What is your book called? How did it originate?

Is there a messenger that you believe in?

According to your religion, what will happen to non-Pagans when they die? What will happen to you?

I don't think Pagans even exist where I live; so I'm very interested to understand your doctrine and learn about it.

Thanks!

The answer is no.

The best example is of course Islam, where inspite of Islam, there are a few Muslims who are ok.

By ok, I dont mean those gimmicky phoney mannerisms that impresses only ignorant people who like dog tricks in human beings, I mean that a couple of Muslims here and there, on rare occasion, have an open mind, inspite of Islam and can actually say things like "yea, I see how someone in your shoes could see it that way...".

Amazing really, when you finally met one like that...I almost had a hear attack.

I'm not trying to be explosive, I'm honestly curious. If you believe in the Big Bang, what caused it? Most Big Bang theorists say it was from gases mixing together, but where did the gases come from? Do Atheists believe that the universe is infinite? If there is an end, what happens if you go an inch further? And why did morality evolve??? If anyone can answer these, I'd be much obliged.

THREE ATHEISTS

Three Atheists were on an island and about to die. They all decided it was time to pray. The first said, "I don't know how to pray. I don't know where to begin."

The second said, "I don't know where to start either."

The third said, "I've never done it either. The closest I've come to religion was living next door to a catholic church."

The other two said, "You know the most, why don't you lead us."

The third bows his head, clasps his hands and says, "B-4, I-22, N-37,..."

If we made robots that were human like and uploaded all known data how would they decide their morals? Every movie I see has directive 1,2,3....why do the ten commandments seem so strange to some people then? Is it not logical that a created being is subject to directives?

The Bishop with immoral behavior and the priests, when will the Holy Father do something to clean up this very bad problem. We need answers before more people stop going to Church or leave and join other Churches.

I understand that many people feel we SHOULD worship him. And perhaps they're right. But that's not what I'm asking. I'm asking why God would care whether we worship him or not? Why would the Creator of everything that exists have a need for worship? Sure, he might want us to appreciate what he has given us. I can understand that. But I just can't understand why he would feel any need to have a bunch of human beings worshipping him. And then, to make it worse, a lot of folks believe that this God who wants to be worshipped will make us suffer in eternity in hell if we don't. That's REALLY bizarre, that being worshipped by a bunch of human beings is so important to him that he'll torture us in hell for all eternity if we don't do it.

I know this question has been asked here before, but there weren't many really good answers. Please don't just tell me I'm going to hell. Tell me why you think God would care whether or not we worship him.

Can anybody tell me why is it Jewish tradition for the man performing the circumcision (i'm guessing a Rabbi) on a baby boy, to, (sorry to say it like this) suck the blood up from there after he does it?

Again I will admit to my ignorance of this tradition, because to me that seems disgusting to say the very least.

And I'm just curious, why is this done?

Once again I apologize if this offended any Jewish people, whether religious or non religious.

I'd really like for someone to explain the significance of that tradition to me. Thanks in advance.

Have you ever met someone in life that was totally villified by other people, and you found out that they were actually a nice person when you talked to them personally. They were just the victim of bad press and a smear campaign. Could this be the case with Satan? How can you actually call someone "The Prince of Darkness" without giving the guy a chance. Any comment on this??? It may sound silly at first but look at it with an open and intelligent mind

people say that homosexuality is not a sin, when they really know that it is. Are they just trying to fit into the politically correct world. I think Christians are strong and follow what they believe in and the others are just followers of what everyone else says.

Why is it some people don't believe that God exists and in his holy books (which were revealed a long time ago), and they say that these are fabricated and people just make it up, yet they believe in dinosaurs (which happened even longer ago), which could also be made up by people? I'm not saying I don't believe in them, but why do some people only believe in dinosaurs but not God? Couldn't God have made these dinosaurs?
