The word translated godliness in Scripture is eusebeia. The emphasis on this word is more God-ward than man-ward. It is akin to the fear and reverence of God and is closely connected with worship. The primary emphasis of righteousness is man-ward. It has more to do with moral rectitude and uprightness in ones dealing with his fellow man. The Scripture teaches that righteousness is attained by faith; but then it must be worked out in conduct towards our fellow man. "faith working through love" (Galatians 5:6) Love always does the right thing.

Righteousness - the gift of grace from God - being acceptable in his sight that we could not earn ourselves. The holiness he gives to unholy men.

Righteousness, as it is revealed in the Holy Scripture, is based on three things:

1.Whosoever believes in One Alone GOD, honors GOD, worships GOD, serves GOD is righteous in belief.
2.Whosoever acts according to the commandments of GOD as revealed in the Holy Scripture is righteous in acts.
3.Whosoever values the Day of Judgement and performs acts for the sake of salvation is righteous in faith.

Precisely, who guards one’s self and avoids Evil, as it is required for salvation, is righteous by name. GOD will choose among mankind, the righteous ones to declare successful on the Day of Judgement, no mention to which nation they belong.

Righteous people are people of GOD and are beneficial humans.
