Excuse me, are we having a problem with trust? These are men and women of God spending your money, or perhaps pocketing it. After all, wasn't religion invented by some lazy bumb who felt entitled to 10% of your before taxes income???
Your friendly Atheist.

have you ever seen going into the church place of work and asking the church treasurer to envision the books. Even moreso, are you a member of the church? you incredibly do not need to work out a economic assertion from a church until you're a helping member. Written economic statements at the instant are not usually purely made available for open distribution. right here interior the States, church homes could supply you with a finacial assertion of YOUR donations each and every 365 days. seek for bulletin bulletins for the Church Board's corporation assembly and examine to work out in the event that they're open conferences. (Has the church been complaining when you consider which you will not tutor them your economic information on what you spend your money on? economic statements are private. understand that, and seek for an appointment with the Treasurer.

Some churces will send a statement and you can claim it as an end of the year contribution. But that's not the point. You give for a lot of reasons. I think the church you give to should invest the money in a special pamphlet for inquisitive churchgoers. Rockefeller (heard the name before) started out giving tithes and the rest is history.

MCC (metropolitan Community Church) is congregation run. THe bugdets have to be approved by the congregation at the Year end meeting and Financials are distributed. IN fact in the US all non-profits have to have public accounting records. Our problem is people do not care enough to attend the meeting and vote. They would rather grip that they don't know than attend the meeting and find out.

the Roman Catholic churches to which I belong all have an "open book". while their PnL statemnts are not sent to everyone, they are there and the basics are discussed once the yearly budget is set. we are given monthly accounting as to where we are as a whole for the month - incoming funds to expenses.

Instead of putting your money in church, spend your money on a family who needs help with food or clothing..That way you know where your money went.

Why don't you just become more involved and help decide where it goes by being part of the fellowship. Taxpayers don't get to decide really either unless they vote and get involved.
