You know the principal actually exists.

But what if you knew your principal really well and found that you loved him like a father figure. That he helped you and encouraged you to do better. I bet you would try hard to please him because he cared for you, not the fact that because he is the principal he could suspend you. God is like that, He loves us and we respond to His love. Seek the Love of God.

You should only "believe" in God because of the evidence that you have proving that he is real....
