Before baptism read the Bible, it will help you to form your believes, and will help you to closer walk with God. Pray, asking God to guide you to the church He wants you to be baptized and be part of it. Don't rush, let God act for you on His timing. Read articles I provided below. They will help you.

Congratulations on your decision and enthusiasm. You're in luck. Wherever you are in the world, you've likely got lots of choices. You just need to call and talk to a few pastors or ministers to check and see what's involved.

I would encourage you to do a little research first. You don't have to rush to be baptized for fear that you won't go to heaven.

If you want to be "saved" you can be saved by praying to God that you believe in Him, you are sorry for the bad things you've done (everyone sins), and ask him to forgive you. If you accept his love, you're saved.

From there, visit a few churches and find out if any of them suit you. Talk to the pastors, read the Bible. You should make sure you are comfortable with what the church teaches as well as the people there.

The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America is a great place to start if you live in the United States. Each congregation is a little different, but any of them will be thrilled to welcome you and baptise you.

Peace to you,

baptism is the act of professing faith in Christ as Your Savior

its a very important part of being a Christian. Is that your desire?

if so, find a bible-believing church and attend there for a while seeking out the leadership and sharing your desire to join the family of God.

you can email me through my web site www.setfreebyjesus.org
if you are truly seeking God and I will be Glad to help all I can

i attend church of Christ, so i would say church of Christ. This one baptism (water immersion in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins) is plainly shown in examples throughout the New Testament where believers were converted. Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit."
Acts 22:16 And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

you would need to meet with the head of a church like priest pastor reverend etc, they will probably want to speak a few times with you before actually doing a baptism, most won't do it tomorrow, you may find an evangelical who would be willing to, churches hav "doctrine" to follow, if you want it now, church is probably not the best route, especially a conservative church

the catholic church will require you to take the rcia courses so you know why exactly you are being baptised and its importance, it would initiate you into the catholic church and you could begin taking steps to receive the blessed sacraments. for other christian churches i think alot would baptise you on the spot but you would probably have to publicly declare jesus as your personal lord and savior. i recommend the catholic church but it is cool you want to be baptised and may god bless you in your decision.

What part of the world?
You seem to be on the right track, but MANY churches follow the teachings of men rather than scripture. Keep seeking truth.

Check out http://www.phoenixvalleychurch.org

... I don't know much about them, but they seem to be in your area and seeking to follow the truth of scripture.

First you must be born of the spirit. Rituals and rites mean nothing without a broken spirit and contrite heart.(proverb 51
