Like if your showing some other people in Heaven some trick you learned and God happened to be nearby watching, do you think he would walk on by and show some even more amazing trick just to remind you that we're in Heaven to praise and worship Him?

I recently started talking to an old friend who claims he's a new age Christian but what does that really mean? What is the difference between a New Age Christian & traditional Christian? How much do there beliefs differ from one another? I would like clarification about this subject not to pass judgement but rather for understanding.

I was a little low on cash one week and took my neighbor up on the suggestion to go to the local food pantry. All I ended up with is endless cans of outdated bent cans and dusty boxes. I got no meat or fresh vegetables. When I arrived home, I called my neighbor to tell of the experience. She told me that most times the church and/or its members keep the meat and vegetables for themselves. That's so strange, seeing as though the local food depository issues the food to the local churches for distribution to the hungry and poor.

The question is this: should I be grateful for the outdated food or should I be grateful and count my blessings?

I quote someone here as I am not American. From what I have seen, if you state you are an atheist, you are treated like Bin Laden. Where is the freedom of speech American's hold so dear? Religious bigotry makes the US anything but 'free'.

I heard that the bible was written by men through the Holy Spirit. Why do people believe it ? If today the same men wrote a book and they said it was inspired by the Holy Spirit. I don't think a lot of people would believe in.

I attended New Life Church, and finally was compelled to leave. There were all kinds of quirky things about the Church that now make sense after Ted Haggard was exposed. There were unreasonable rules in the Singles group for instance (no spending time alone with a member of the opposite sex, dating was frowned upon) - it felt like a cult group, micro-managing our lives.

When I left, I later wrote back to the Church and also called to address some bad doctrinal practices that were spreading from New Life Church to other local churches in the NAE (what a nightmare).

Ted had me arrested for harrassment, and I spent 52 days in jail (still trying to clear my name). Any reactions?

By the way, in I Corinthians 6:1-11, Paul clearly states that Christians are not to take other Christians to court. Ted, and his buddy next door, Dr. James Dobson, will arrest you in a heart beat. Reactions to that?

One of the cathedrals in our parish has just been upgraded to a minor basilica, and I know that it has to be approved by the Vatican and that our bishop sent a letter requesting the status, but what else qualifies the church status?

There are those historical accounts which seem to be in contention with Biblical accounts. I am interested to know what all of you have to offer under difficult differences. Also I wonder who people think was the one who was Jesus' "go to guy"

I hear the argument all the time that we are in so much trouble as a society today because children aren't forced* to pray in public schools. I also hear the argument that god gave us free will so that we could make the concious choice to follow and pray to him. Would it really appease god to have prayer force fed to him? Don't you think he might just be the tiniest bit upset to have free will circumvented so that he could recieve millions of half-assed prayers?

*I say forced because there is no law saying that one can't pray in school on their own time (between classes, lunch, etc.) Proponents of school prayer want it forced on every student.

It's a cons-piracy!!!

In December 2005, Bobby Henderson received a reported USD $80,000 advance to pen The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster. According to the author, he plans to use the proceeds from the sale of the book to build a pirate ship, with which he may travel the world in order to convert heathens to the Pastafarian religion.[6] The book was released on March 28, 2006 (ISBN 0-8129-7656-8).

The Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster is the Pastafarian equivalent of the Bible. It parodies biblical figures with characters such as Captain Mosey, a pirate and the FSM equivalent of Moses. The Gospel contains The Eight "I'd Really Rather You Didn'ts", parodying the Ten Commandments.

Don't be fooled... I know some christians have been converted already!!! It's about money... Don't let them shove this down your throat!!! :)-~

Isaiah 14
1For the LORD will have mercy on Jacob, and will yet choose Israel, and set them in their own land: and the strangers shall be joined with them, and they shall cleave to the house of Jacob.

2And the people shall take them, and bring them to their place: and the house of Israel shall possess them in the land of the LORD for servants and handmaids: and they shall take them captives, whose captives they were; and they shall rule over their oppressors.

3And it shall come to pass in the day that the LORD shall give thee rest from thy sorrow, and from thy fear, and from the hard bondage wherein thou wast made to serve,

4That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

5The LORD hath broken the staff of the wicked, and the sceptre of the rulers.

6He who smote the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he that ruled the nations in anger, is persecuted, and none hindereth.

7The whole earth is at rest, and is quiet: they break forth into singing.

8Yea, the fir trees rejoice at thee, and the cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since thou art laid down, no feller is come up against us.

9Hell from beneath is moved for thee to meet thee at thy coming: it stirreth up the dead for thee, even all the chief ones of the earth; it hath raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.

10All they shall speak and say unto thee, Art thou also become weak as we? art thou become like unto us?

11Thy pomp is brought down to the grave, and the noise of thy viols: the worm is spread under thee, and the worms cover thee.

12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

13For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

14I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

15Yet thou shalt be brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.

16They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, and consider thee, saying, Is this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

17That made the world as a wilderness, and destroyed the cities thereof; that opened not the house of his prisoners?

18All the kings of the nations, even all of them, lie in glory, every one in his own house.

19But thou art cast out of thy grave like an abominable branch, and as the raiment of those that are slain, thrust through with a sword, that go down to the stones of the pit; as a carcase trodden under feet.

20Thou shalt not be joined with them in burial, because thou hast destroyed thy land, and slain thy people: the seed of evildoers shall never be renowned.

21Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.

22For I will rise up against them, saith the LORD of hosts, and cut off from Babylon the name, and remnant, and son, and nephew, saith the LORD.

23I will also make it a possession for the bittern, and pools of water: and I will sweep it with the besom of destruction, saith the LORD of hosts.

24The LORD of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

25That I will break the Assyrian in my land, and upon my mountains tread him under foot: then shall his yoke depart from off them, and his burden depart from off their shoulders.

26This is the purpose that is purposed upon the whole earth: and this is the hand that is stretched out upon all the nations.

27For the LORD of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

If we have already overcome nothingness once, why not again?

Which then is harder to exist once, or to exist again?

Atheism is just an psychological blinder for belief in God.
