Well, people may know of His existence then, but would they really believe in Him? Take for example the Holocaust; true, people know it really happened, but there are those who are starting to believe that the event never happened. (Note: I am not one of those people.) There is also the case of our present state; a lot of people, including some scientists, believe that God does not exist and that religions are something that the human mind creates to give life a purpose, but many people believe that He does in one way or another. So many things have been and will be proved, but without faith the knowledge that is found is lost to us all.

People saw God in the flesh do miracles and they still didnt have faith!!! Even Jesus' own disciples didnt have enough faith! Faith is apart from proof. Thats why you gotta laugh at all the atheists that think they could and would follow God if they had "proof." Quite right, faith begins in your heart.

Faith is the act of believing without evidence, lack of knowing. if there were emperical evidence for god faith would only be needed or expressed when anticipating an act of god. one more thing regarding the answer where the poster said the person should be thrown in jail for denying god, they make a great case for why people reject this fairy tale. religion= intolerance and hate

It was proved to the Jews that God is real, when God freed them from slavery, and done many miracles in the mist of them, and still their faith faded from them not believe in what their own eyes have seen.

So Yes faith is needed, we need to keep our spirit focus on God, as long as we are trapped in our bodies, we tend to slide to the weak side. Our body and spirit is at war with one another since the body is weak and the spirit strong.

Well, God was on Earth 2,000 years ago and still plenty of people doubted his existence then. The existence of God is pretty plain to see--just look at the miracle of the world around us. The beauty of life is overwhelming. But people still try to pass it off on some freak collision between giant rocks in space.

It comes down to faith--sole fidele

If something is a proven fact do you need faith to agree with it ? I think we would need faith for other things though.

Yes, I don't think you understand what faith is.

"Faith is a belief, trust, or confidence, not based merely on logic, reason, or empirical data, but based fundamentally on volition often associated with a transpersonal relationship with God, a higher power, a person, elements of nature, and/or a perception of the human race as a whole. Faith can be placed in a person, inanimate object, state of affairs, proposition or body of propositions such as a religious creed."

It would be foolish to place one's faith anywhere but God. You know, I can offer you sympathy for losses like a broken heart, broken marriage, broken home, broken body, but only the God of the Universe through His Son Jesus Christ could actually DO anything about it to actually CHANGE it. That's proof enough. You would rather believe in NOTHING when all evidence points to the CREATOR OF ALL? He has given people many miracles for thousands of years including His Word of God, martyrs for His gospel, so yes there would still be a need for faith because even those who witnessed Jesus miracles face to face lacked faith and their eyes were blinded. We need faith to understand that God is a "gentleman", a supernatural being of His word, and what He promises He will turn heaven and earth upside down if need be to bring it to pass so we must have faith in His character and that Jesus said " 1Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. 2In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also." John 14 Holy Bible

Yes there would be b/c although people are convinced in their mind... we must also be convinced in our hearts. In the case of God and man (woman & man), God moved by our faith not knowledge of Christ's life, death, and ressurection. In my case, I certainly am 100% convinced He's real.... but my faith must be refreshed time and time again. I have noticed that it's not just me... it's many peopel. Maybe that's the way it was meant to be so we can continously seek Him.
