Once `Umar entered Muhammad's house and noticed the state of the furnishings in it. Muhammad himself had only one sheet of cloth round him to cover the lower part of his body. There was one simple bed with one pillow filled with nut fiber. On one side of the room was some barley and in one corner near his feet was an animal skin. There were some water-skins hanging beside his bed. `Umar said that on seeing this tears came into his eyes. Allah's Messenger asked the reason for his tears. He replied, "O Allah's Messenger! Why shouldn't I cry! The strings of the bed have left marks on your body. This is a small room with all your furniture, I can see what there is. The Byzantine Emperor and the Persian Emperor enjoy luxurious living while you, the Messenger of Allah and the Chosen One, live like this." He said, "Ibn al-Khattab! Don't you like that they choose this world and we choose the Hereafter?"

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) - Mankind, which has reached other planets and decoded the genetic instructions for life, should not presume it can live without God, Pope Benedict said in his Christmas message on Monday.

In an age of unbridled consumerism it was shameful many remained deaf to the "heart-rending cry" of those dying of hunger, thirst, disease, poverty, war and terrorism, he said.

thats what i found on yahoooooooo tonight when i got home from a night out with my loving family after fantastic cristmas day

in this modern world of consumerism, is what the pope said a load of old bollocks, or anything any good????????

I had a friend over my house one time so it was my older sister, my friend and I and we were in the rumpus room of our house and it was always really cold in there compared to the rest of the house, even though we had the heater on and no the heater wasnt broken lol. So in the middle of the night we had just finished watching movies etc. and were just about to go to bed. There were 2 futon beds or my grandmothers old lounge that we could choose to sleep on but we chose the futons. After we had organised beds and such we were sitting up in bed just talking when suddenly the cushion on the lounge moved, u know, when someone gets up how the cushion rises? Well holy sh*t we had all jumped at least 3 feet in the air. My sister and friend didnt waste their time hiding under the blankets whilst i was brave enough to say a prayer that my mother taught me to say even when i was just little, to make the spirits go away. Anyone with a similar experience?

What do you think are those dos and don'ts ?

What will you say when you get to Hell and it really is fire and brimstone, when you see that your spirit really does live on forever, what will you say when you see that there really isn't any way out of Hell and beggin God won't help, and apologizing won't help and trying to bargain with the Devil won't help. I realized 15 yrs ago that I can not live this life on my own, that it really takes me getting saved, living the life of Christ, seeking God's face and fulfilling the promises which He has made/set for me. It took me that long to see that "hey God really does love me!" but it doesn't have to take anyone and eternity to see that God loves you more than you will ever be able to concieve. Hell is a real place and it's a place that no one wants to go, and yeah I know that some of you say,"yeah, I know that I am going to Hell". Trust me when I say this, God's word is true, Hell is not what you think it is, there will be no parties, and your friends won't who you are. That's real!!!

Christians, why do you turn away from the love of Satan? Can you not see he gave up all the love he had so you could be free, and do what makes you happy? Can you not feel his favor when you smile and are joyed?

Why then, why must you hide behind your false god?

Isn't that like telling a thief, "thanks for robbing me". "I will take it as a learning experience". How about for the dirty cop that planted drugs on me, while doing a routine traffic stop. Do I fall to my knees and say "thank you god for this injustice". The experiences of jail is going to make me a better person"

How many of you thank god for cancer, poverty or falling victim to others?

why do many christians answer when asked about homosexuals that "is not something God allows" "it is a sin in the eyes of God", "it goes agains God laws" and bla bla bla (these are real answers) and when asked about why God allows tragedies as the tsunami or other natural disasters they start talking about "free will" "God gives us freedom"?
May it seem that many of you use the word "God" to your own convenience? To shield agains your own fears?
Is that fair for God?
(just asking)
Please to the more radicals: try not to insult, i am gay, i look gay and i know i am gay. Thankx

Is the word "Bible" even in the scriptures? The Bible is a collection of books. People say those books were inspired by God. There are other books that didn't make it and people tell me they either weren't necessary, or were false doctrine, such as the gosple of Jesus when he says not to worship anyone, not even Him, but to conduct worship in the home according to his or her heart, as in worship how you like, and keep it out of everyone's face.
The books were selected by a vote in the Counsil of Narciea by the Cardinals. Doesn't that mean that even if the scriptures are created by God, the Bible is a creation of man? There are books mention in "accepted scripture" that don't appear in the Bible.
1 Kings 11:41 And the rest of the acts of Solomon, and all that he did, and his wisdom, are they not written in the book of the acts of Solomon?
Before you say "God wouldn't let the truth be lost," consider if the most widely accepted truth is always the right one.

Jesus spoke aramaic (ask your priest, or the Pope if you dont believe me), and God in aramaic is Allah.

Here is the proof, http://www.peshitta.org/ type in the word God, and the site will translate it into aramaic for you.

In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus put his face in the ground and postrated to Allah, who on earth is doing this today?

'Surely, they have disbelieved who say: "Allah is the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)], son of Maryam (Mary)." But the Messiah ['Iesa (Jesus)] said: "O Children of Israel! Worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Verily, whosoever sets up partners in worship with Allah, then Allah has forbidden Paradise for him, and the Fire will be his abode. And for the Zalimun (polytheists and wrongdoers) there are no helpers.' (Qur'an 5:72)

I was reading the Revelations book and it is clear that only Jewish people (by blood) can be saved.

Read the part of the 144,000 saved on Mount Zion: there are 12,000 from each one of the 12 tribes, they are all Jewish people by blood. They are the "just" and "martyrs" who are given white robes, the saved seed from all of humankind.

Does it mean Christians and all other religions are condemned to go to the Antichrist's side, no matter what?

Christians say Jesus is Allah's son, and Jews deny Jesus, John the Baptist and Zachariah

'The Jews said that the Christians follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); and the Christians said that the Jews follow nothing (i.e. are not on the right religion); though they both recite the Scripture. Like unto their word, said (the pagans) who know not. Allah will judge between them on the Day of Resurrection about that wherein they have been differing.' (Qur'an 2:113)

'Say (O Muhammad SAW): "We believe in Allah and in what has been sent down to us, and what was sent down to Ibrahim (Abraham), Isma'il (Ishmael), Ishaque (Isaac), Ya'qub (Jacob) and Al-Asbat [the twelve sons of Ya'qub (Jacob)] and what was given to Musa (Moses), 'Iesa (Jesus) and the Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between one another among them and to Him (Allah) we have submitted (in Islam)." (Qur'an 3:84)

God-Jesus is my God, and he comes first, since I can trust that he would be the last to let me down, and if he does, it's for a good reason perhaps something that I don't see through his eyes- unless he allows me to see it.

Myself and most of the atheists i know personally or respect for whatever reason have a perfectly good understanding and practice of morality. I would even argue that the morality of an atheist is more genuine than that of a believer simply because it's not bolstered by reward (heaven) or enforced by punishment (hell).

Ethics are the abilities to taylor ones actions to suit the greater good. They aren't written in stone, nor do they come from a book or an invisible man in the sky. They come from reason, understanding, and the willingness to do what's right.

I always wonder about people in general but especially people in the music industry, who thank God for making them what they are. Do they really know who God is? Alot of people knew him to be a womanizer, but at any point in his life while being sick had he committed his life to the Lord, because if not he will be with the rest of the procrastinators--in the Lake of Fire.
